Would have been a lot better if he showed more of Michael having the perfect kind of childhood and great family. Think of how much more horrifying it would be to see this nice loving family and then the youngest son randomly going nuts and killing his sister. The way zombie portrayed it, he took away all the mystery behind his madness and made it more blatantly obvious that this kid lived in the worst household and got treated like shit and made a little more sense on why he was the way he was
