I watched the Cthulhu movie from from 2007. Despite the name it's a pretty boring Shadow over Insmouth film. There's a decent scene taking place under the town that feels true to the spirit of the source material but aside from that it's not worth watching. The Call of Cthulu would be difficult to film faithfully because so much of the story is epistolory or told in flashbacks. I think it could work in a noir detective fashion though.

There's also a German independent film of The Colour out of Space. It's low budget and has some pretty terrible acting but is worth a watch. The scenes of the neighbour exploring the house when the family are pretty much done for are great.

Del Toro's Mountains of Madness was cancelled because it would have been identical to Prometheus.
