Nobody’s favorite superhero is Superman. Saying a Superman movie would automatically do better than a Spider-Man movie simply based on name recognition is like saying that a Santa Clause movie would be guaranteed to beat a Spider-Man movie. I guess it could happen if the conditions are right, but it’s far from a bygone conclusion
