doesn't anyone else finds it strange that kyle resse could knock down the terminator with a couple shotgun shells, but an entire police station couldn't even budge the guy while using the same shotgun model on top of m16?

Cameron has always been a hack.

He just slipped on banana.

He pulled on the trigger extra hard

can you actually knock down someone by shooting them with a shotgun? the actual impulse imaprted on the person should be the same as the recoil, right? so it would only work if they were incredibly offbalance already
t. never fired a gun in my life

I think kyle knew on how to fight a terminator, and he just hit the right spot mainly to topple it down. Kyle did demonstrated his knowledge by saying that most current day weapons couldn't destroy a terminator and the best option was to run away

Kyle also took the Terminator by surprise from behind (as much as a Terminator could be), and pumped like 4 or 5 rounds into him in quick succession

Terminator was in full assualt mode in the station. We never see anyone unload into him that much and likely he's less vulnerable whilst he's storming somewhere with heat vision and shit on than getting ganked by someone who knows how to hurt him.

No. People eat the shot and crumple or have chunks rendered off of them.

shut up JUST SHUT UP

do you have a problem?

Recoil happens over a larger amount of time as the bullet is accelerated out of the gun vs impact of round into someone. Also you aren't tensing muscles bracing to be shot whereas you are when you fire the gun.

My dad saw someone get spun around after being shot by a .22 apparently

There's a (relatively) old video of some dude running at a cop and being shot in the chest with a shotgun. He merely fell to the floor and rolled around, bleeding of course, for a while.

I wonder if someone wearing (hard) armor would be knocked back or down given the penetration into soft tissue will reduce the force/s that occurs.

interesting
I also read somewhere that people who are aware they were shot (this is just about handguns, probably 9mm) tend to react way more dramatically to it, i.e. they instantly fall down because they expect the effect they've seen in hollywood movies
whereas if they don't realize that they've been shot they just keep going for far longer

well obviously if you dont know you were shot you aren't going to react to it

I mean more like
>get shot in the leg
>see that you were shot in the leg
>instantly crumple and stop trying to get up
vs.
>get shot in the leg
>don't see that you were shot
>just feel some pain but keep running

Arnie getting hit and the glass getting shattered behind him was a very nice touch. It shows the love that went into making this movie.

I've heard accounts of soldiers being tagged by sniper fire, carrying on all nonchalant and unaware before dropping due to blood loss. I can believe it.
