2016- The Young Pope

2016- The Young Pope
2017-?
2018- The Terror
2019- Chernobyl

What was the unexpected kino show from 2017? A show that just dropped out of nowhere without any anticipation and instantly became a SOTY candidate.
Don't say Twin Peaks: The Return because it was very anticipated and we all knew it would be kino.

The Young Pope was not unexpected. It's directed by Sorrentino, he is a very good director.

I'm still too much of a brainlet to understand The Young Pope. Did Lenny believe in Jesus or not?

>2017-?
Leftovers you pleb

Patriot.
First episode was technically 2015 from amazons pilot thing, but the rest of the season released in 2017.

I stopped watching The Young Pope about 10 minutes in. It was bizarre. Felt really cheap and nasty in spite of the sets and costumes and I found the whole scenario very strange. I guess that was the point but it certainly wasn't for me.

Yeah but it wasn't hugely anticipated except for people that know/like Sorrentino and follow his career. I didn't know about him until TYP came out, same as most people this side of the Atlantic ocean.

>that spade over his entire abdomen
so he fucks black guys?

Sometimes he did, sometimes he didn't.

It's my second favorite show ever but the first season didn't come out in 2017 you brainlet

He had some "doubts" but overall yes, and deeply at that.

At least now you know him. Loro was disappointing, hopefully The New Pope will be good.
You should try it again, it's hard to judge after 10 minutes.

2014 would be The Knick

The first ep is kinda strange, felt like Sorrentino wasnt really sure on the tone of the whole thing. Give the show another chance, pure kino imo.

2016 was "the night of"

2019 is Too Old to Die Young. Chernobyl is pure reddit garbage, down to the strong female who can do everything

Nah it went downhill after the pilot

I love that show

Too Old to Die Young has cringy female characters too. I have only seen 8 episodes but that mexican women is cringe as fuck. Jesus is also a terrible character. Martin and Viggo are the only decent characters.

2017 was Dark

Anyone else cringes when reading the word kino? It's embarrassing at this point

Not sure, but frontrunners would be the Leftovers and Mindhunter

>The Leftovers
>2017

only the young pope is good

How the FUCK do I achieve this look? It is honestly the absolute fuckin peak white man aesthetic

Yup. And when I continue to see Wojacks and Pepes.

You will have to ask Jude.

yeah but she's implied to be an otherworldly being. Chernobyl's female character is just YAAAAAAAAAAAS for no reason

Dark (netflix series)

Fucking incredible aesthetic on this man

She's a composite character

you are correct user, guess '17 was when I started watching

I hope we get a season three but I doubt enough people watch it.

Legion was 2017.

Shit you're right. I personally didn't like it but I read it was huge.

I don't enjoy ever aspect of it but I think it's the most creative capeshit content with a director that at least knows what they're doing a little.

What did Refn mean by this?
