Pft, no way. There's tons of great feminine characters who don't carry any of the stereotypical male qualities. The problem is that the stereotypes have been over used and amplified so much (on both sides) in Hollywood films, that over time we've been to be conditioned to appreciate male qualities more, compared to female ones. This was probably unavoidable though, because men by nature or generally more adventurous and willing to fail, compared to women, who tend be more protective over the status quo. This difference is a biological necessity. However, only one of them is good for the 'heros journey' narrative.
