Yeah there was a couple things that didn't make sense about that episode. Like, they frame the time travel thing to be bad because Dean never went to get Sam at college but that doesn't really make sense. The whole reason Dean went to get Sam was because he needed his help to find John. If John had disappeared in the past, wouldn't the result just be the same except they never find him? Also the fact that John was able to beat down Sam and Dean despite both having fought way more powerful creatures than John ever had.

I don't understand why so many were confused with this episode. The time travel thing is creating a paradox and it was in the process of correcting itself--some changes were immediate, some weren't. If they continued to let John stay in the future, eventually even Sam and Dean will be changed to their alternate counterparts Kale-Sam and Fugitive-Dean. However, as it was completely reversed, everything went back to as it was and John remembered it only as a dream. Sam, Dean and Mary got to remember it because the pearl was activated in their own timeline. John didn't because he was the one pulled out from it.

I think its good I even like the love triangle cheese, not keen on Faith though but it gets better when Spike shows up. It seems to be a side character heavy season.

I always liked Faith. Spike I liked but didn't realize he would be one of the best characters until I was in the latter seasons

yeah that's what I don't like much about 3 I guess. Although I'm a mytharc guy, I still prefer lore and fights more than personal relationship shit (which is why I was apprehensive to start Buffy to begin with until I read that Kripke and Singer were fans) and 3 is chock-full of the relationship crap. Buffy 4 returns to a lot more MOTWs iirc. And no, I didn't webmize this. It might have been the OG Webmizer, he's a fan of both Supernatural and Buffy although I think there are a lot more other Buffy webmizers than there are SPN webmizers if that makes sense
