Is it worth becoming invested in this show? I'm about halfway through season 2 and my mild interest is slowly turning into a need to continue. I understand amazon revived the series when it got canned midway through s3, what are the chances they follow through to a proper conclusion? I don't think i could handle a second BSG S4.

Books are always better. Show made some improvements to some characters, like Ashford, though.

I think the expanse is the first show where some things are somewhat better than things in the book. Obviously there are some things that are worse in the show, but some characters and plots are more well developed and actually interesting in the show.
Amazon will probably keep it going for quite a while but hard to say for sure. I guess it's mostly gonna depend if they get a sub boost from the show
He is the main character, killing the main character is a big no no in modern literature and TV shows
In a general sense they have followed the books so far with each season being one of the books. (Meaning the big story, not smaller details.) I think they'd be making a mistake to alter that. The books are good, even if he does re-use phrases a bit much. Book Avisarala is BASED and the creative profanity she drops is worth the read alone. I hope they bring that in when they go to Amazon and can curse.
Of course he still owes us at least one more book, so he could deliver a turkey himself and ruin it. You have to take your chances. I am along for the ride, having read all the released books and seen all the episodes.
The fact that you made it past the first few episodes and didn't bail because of things like the stupid hat means you can probably withstand a few ups and downs anyway.

The show wasn't canceled though. Syfy just didn't want to pay for it.
Overall, the show has been in decline since Miller's departure , but I think potentially Amazon could throw enough money in to do right by it. I don't think I've ever watched any of their original content, so it's just wishful thinking from me at this point.
