Yeah it's a good movie. Only gay men and females are really into it though.
>he doesn't have an instinct for good movies
Show me a poster and I can tell you if it's a good movie.
you are probably uneducated burger because if you knew something more about that myth you would know why
why are two girls kissing on the cover
Diane Kruger's bobs were 11/10 in this
I know a lot about the myth, which is why I was reluctant to watch it. And even though it’s a crap adaptation, it’s still a pretty good movie on its own
HECTOOOOOOOOOOOOOOR
I was disappointed in it for the same reason Peter o Toole was disappointed in it: it isn't The Iliad.
But as time has gone by I've enjoyed it more & more for some reason. It has some pretty good scenes.
Great movie
It completely disregards the source material, but it's good nonetheless.
>completely disregards
False. It regards it very well. I have read both the Illiad and the Odyssey. Just because it does not portray the gods as anything more than natural phenomena or normal humans, does not mean it "completely disregards" the source material.
And yes, some other scenes and dramatic interplays are simplified and shortened down but that's simply to adapt it on film.
correct
The fight scene between Hector and Achilles was great.
>Ancient Greeks speaking English
Of course, I've also seen it so that helps.
SACK OF WINE
>Implying that the source material that wasn't even written until hundreds of years after it was thought up matters at all
You’re right user, every ancient and or/foreign film should be made in a language that nobody in the English speaking word should understand. Every King Arthur movie should be in old Brittonic, every movie about Moses should be told in ancient Hebrew and Egyptian, an epic of Gilgamesh movie needs to told in Sumerian
I'd forgotten about this completely. This is indeed a good movie.
yeah this movie fucking rules
Unironically yes
If Gibson made it,why nobody else can?
There are some languages that aren’t fully reconstructed
Would it be cool to see a movie about the Trojan War spoken in old Greek? Fucking yes. Even if it isn't accurate I think there's enough Attic Greek to make a really good attempt. But training the actors to speak that way is odious for both them and the subtitle-fearing audience.
Hahaha, I always hated this scene but it makes me smile. Sometimes i'll use it as a quip with nothing else to say.

yes. literally and unironically yes.
These guys get it
Even the attempt of this in a movie is honorable
Otherwise it's just a lazy shitfest
