I know a lot about the myth, which is why I was reluctant to watch it. And even though it’s a crap adaptation, it’s still a pretty good movie on its own

I was disappointed in it for the same reason Peter o Toole was disappointed in it: it isn't The Iliad.
But as time has gone by I've enjoyed it more & more for some reason. It has some pretty good scenes.
