Because it is generic anime style, and reduced to the stereotypical, conventional designs they could have gone with, if they were lazy. Perfuma is a little elf. Frosta isn't a kid, and has a fan, like wind powers instead of Ice? Glimmer is a totally generic design. She-ra is the best design change, because it still sticks to what the character is supposed to be, a warrior women.

Lets say you have the ungodly ability to animate as well as say James Baxter, but not just fluid movement either, your art would be divine and the speed at which you draw would be so fast in fact you could single handedly animate a single show. With all this in mind, what show that is currently airing right now would you jump on? It's art would be gorgeous with any style you choose, the animation would near rotoscoing levels, and lastly the whole og crew of animators of whatever show you chose will be fired that day. There's no dental though.
