Ian Flynn giving out the plot of Archie Mario comic

Not sure if this has been posted here already, but here's a tweet from IDW author Ian Flynn explaining what the rejected Mario comic would've been about, including the outline for its storyline and the corporate politics that got it rejected in the first place.

Your thoughts on this? Also, is there a chance that Nintendo would be more open in letting IDW or other comic companies using their IPs?

That depends, would Nintendo have a shitload of unreasonable mandates that prevent an ongoing plot from being anything more than game adaptations in any way?

>Not sure if this has been posted here already

It has been. Just sayin'. The other thread is still active, even

But his Sonic stories are good. He's no Ken Penders.

Being better than Penders is not exactly an achievement.

Wait till you hear about the secret history of the plumber family that created the mushroom kingdom who originally came from space.

>Hope Nintendo never allows a Mario comic
user I hate to break it to you...

Do they fight Koopa Gods at the beginning of the Universe?

i'd love a mario comic with the art style of yoichi kotabe

Just read Super Mario Adventures...

So basically, same as the Valiant comics where Mario is mostly a jaded grump who's so unfazed by Bowser's tricks that he just yaks with Luigi about nonsense while beating up minions.

My opinion why Nintendo doesn’t allow comic and cartoon/anime adaptations of their stuff is BECAUSE of things that happened to Sonic. They see how the comics and cartoons tell their own satisfying stories. So maybe Nintendo is concerned that people won’t want to play and buy their games if people either hate the spinoff stuff, or they like it too much.

Like, Nintendo wants to keep it that the only way to get your official Mario fill is to buy and play their games. And Mario ‘lore’ is so flat and boring, what the hell can you even tell about it. He runs to the right and jumps? Okay. I’m sure that’ll be REAL fun to read about, huh?

A comic based on the old cartoons, and an on going gag manga only in japan don’t count

Sonic also has the double edged sword of being furry which attracts autists, and being incredibly easy to draw which attracts autistic fanartists and OCs.

What about the german Club Nintendo comics?

Can you link me to it?

Has there been a Mario game where jumping on Bowser works?

Nigga just because I can, doesn't mean I shouldn't want more like that.

I know I shouldn't spoonfeed, but

The Paper Mario series and the Mario & Luigi series let you jump on Bowser head without taking any damage.

isn't that the whole point of the horns? He's a character that cannot be jumped on

Thanks. To be fair, I tried to look for it before I've made this thread, but I couldn't find it.

Bowser's horns are on each side of his head, not on top. I guess it's only the case when you're playing a 2D Mario game. Also, logic in Mario is very inconsistent anyways. In 2D, you can stay underwater with unlimited amount of air. In 3D, you lose air and drown if you stay underwater too long.

Fuck off, fags

Are the writer and the artist of the Super Mario Adventures and Mario vs Wario comics still around? I would love for the Mario comics to be just like that
