Why doesnt he just turn into a Kryptonian?

Same reason he doesn’t turn into a black guy for enhanced jumping powers.
Grayson Diaz
Because he's terrible
Tyler Gonzalez
Seriously. He's just a bad character. Every time he's in a fight I want to scream "Have you tried turning into a gorilla?", but by then he likely already has.
Thomas White
He only turns into animals, not monsters,
Angel Robinson
He only turns into like three animals. Rhino, Gorilla, Eagle. He has a shit imagination and he's proven before that he can turn into shit even from other worlds. I think he's just dumb.
Dylan Lewis
If i genetically engineer a completely new animal could he turn into it?
Caleb Barnes
OH ALSO, he should have super regenerative powers, yet in the past two episodes we've seen him get his shit kicked in and not just transform to heal. Literally what the fuck?
Aiden Howard
He should be able to. His powers come from The Red - the force of all animal life, just like Swamp Thing's come from The Green - the source of all plant life.
Carter Flores
I like when he turns into a whale and bodyslams enemies. If I were him I'd abuse the shit out of that.
Logan Nelson
>powers come from the red
>is green
Jace Scott
Again, not monsters.
Charles Wood
Meant for
Nathaniel Edwards
Lol the irony isn't lost on me.
You are aware there are more than three animal species on Earth, right?
Juan King
Why would you lie like that?
Ayden Howard
>Been there, done that.
Anthony Williams
Beast Boy was from the 60's and the concept of The Red and The Green came from Animal Man comics in the 80's. They made BB red in the Nu52 but pretty much everyone hated it because that's not how he was in the cartoons.
Elijah Powell
They probably actually hated it because, well, Nu52.
Jayden Price
okay , so why doesnt he turn into Krypto?
Connor Rogers
They should have left him green but given him a brief red glow each time he changes form or something
Bentley Roberts
He literally should be able to. Especially since there are several on Earth.
Henry Gomez
IIRC He turned green again because Swamp Thing did...something with him on the Rothworld crossover.
Jeremiah Moore
He turned into a maalefaak while fighting Granny.
Tyler Gonzalez
With all of malfy's powers?
Nolan Ramirez
Weisman put a limitation on Beast Boy's powers which is that he can't turn into animals he haven't personally seen. He can't turn into dinosaurs unlike the Teen Titans cartoon (although weirdly enough, Weisman kept the fact that he can't speak on animal form).
Samuel Taylor
According to Weisman, Beast Boy needs to have already made physical contact with the animal in order to be able to shapeshift into that species.
He would have needed to make physical contact with Superman beforehand which doesn't seem like the case, Conner is half human so it doesn't count. He has definitely made physical contact with Miss Martian, so he should be able to turn into a Martian. s8.org
Robert Scott
Beast Boy is severely depowered in this show. He's already a half-assed Red user to begin with, but he's lost most of his abilities in this show.
How do humans and Kryptonians not count as animals?
Julian Howard
I liked it when martian manhunter was basically just alien beast boy. that made for some badass fight scenes
Nolan Johnson
Martian Manhunter gets NOWHERE NEAR enough coverage and it's a fucking crime. Every fight scene he's ever been in has been pure magic.
Luis Phillips
I mean what are the limits of BB powers? Because sometimes he transforms into mythological creatures, dragons, demons, even aliens, there some comics were they say he’s linked to life force and could be literally anything alive in the universe and in other just creatures
Matthew Murphy
Which one?
Josiah Moore
I personally liked his N52 red look. Personality wise he was the same just didn't seem like as much of a little guy.
Mostly I just hate how they changed back to green without a single instory mention of his red look. Not even a "his mutation is constantly changing" single line of dialogue explaination.
Juan Thomas
The limits are he has to think of it first. Can't transform into something if it doesn't occur to you that you can in the heat of the moment. BB tends to use the animals he grew up surrounded by in the african wilderness out of habit
Robert Harris
His consistent limits have been size (too big tires him quickly) and only having acess to the natural abilities of what he transforms into. Literally nowhere has it been stated that he can't turn into intelligent animals (and he did in the ntt). At worst, he has been recently restricted by his new52 connection to the red into only being able to transform into beings originating from the planet he's currently in.
Thomas Carter
Shouldn’t he be red?

The thread has already discussed this. Beast Boy was created before The Red and The Green were.
