It feels like one of these contradicts the other.
It’s a good easy to pick up MMO.
It must still have enough players to justify itself
Is it any fun? What does the community look like these days?
Think about it, there are no other Hero MMO's competing against it. People get desperate and play it. The game is mediocre and it isn't horrible just unremarkable.
Why dont they make a new mmo? Cuz the graphics on this game about to be 2 gen’s old
Wouldn't it be a contradiction if he had said Why is this dead?
How is it a contradiction the way it's stated?
It's pretty repetitive and gets boring. Granted, I never got to the level cap, and played mostly solo rather than in guilds or raids or whatever, and never played much of the Endgame content.
The gameplay is essentially, "hey player, Oracle here. There are a bunch of generic NPCs walking around in this area of town. Beat up, like, 35 of them. Then I'll tell you to go to another area of town with more NPCs to beat up. Do that maybe one or two more times, and then go to a dungeon to fight more NPCs and a boss with a cameo from a DC character." Every single mission is like this.
Some positives are that the character-creator is fun, and the game is comfy because it seems to be an eternal snapshot of the pre-Flashpoint DCU. Tim Drake in his BTAS Robin costume, all the familiar characters, etc.
>no other Hero MMO's competing against it.
Champions still exists but people are also pissed off about CoX still and it doesn't have the boost that DC has from being a name brand
Also the fact that it's available on consoles as well as PC helps, that's part of why FF14 has been gaining ground on WoW
Rumour on the street is that Rocksteady's new DC game is going to be a create-a-character multiplayer GAAS. If this is true, it might just be "next-gen DCUO-killer"
It's a lot like Runescape.
>muh graphics
Kill yourself.
It's very bareboned but does its job competently, so people keep playing it
GAAS?
Games As A Service (basically something u subscribe to)
stop this meme
I mean video game "generations" aren't even that long. It sounds old when you put it that way, but it's not really.
cause that trailer from before it came out was hype as shit
It’s a action MMO with story content.
Or has a multiplayer with such grinding and consistent new pieces of post-release content that you keep playing in the hopes you break down and buy something.
I just want a non MMO superhero rpg, is that too much to ask for?
it's one of the few MMOs i level capped, it's fun and easy, you get super speed or flying and go super fast in the world. and the combat is kinda like blade & soul
Batman Arkham series
...yeah.
WE CAN DREAM user.
youtube.com
mfw went back to play a few months ago and the graphics aged like milk. this game seriously needs a HD Overhaul and possibly animations rework.
Star Wars the old Republic MMO Looks waaaaay better and they pretty much released at the same time
payyy to plaaaayyyyy!
Runescape is great. Too bad it lost its soul.
It is great.
I didn't mean to imply otherwise.
What's really a shame is that everyone I used to play with no longer logs in.
>DCUO Still Exists
>Marvel heroes is dead and youll never get to play it again
WHY
Disney doesn’t care about video games beyond EA mobile games bad kingdom hearts.
You spend years of your life doing the same shit over and over to get a virtual cape?
Gazillion has no one to blame but themselves for what happened.
City of Heroes is better by the way.
This is honestly one of the few games that runs and looks fine on portable Switch (connection lag is another thing entirely)
You can use it to afford your livelihood in Venezuela?
Neither of these are RPGs
More like you spend months killing virtual cows just to run out of space in your bag for any more raw meat.
Marvel has like a bunch of those Mobile games
DC has only one
Not counting the Injustice mobile games I'm guessing? There's also that Future Fight type thing.
Why not use a multi verse storyline. That way everyone can play as there favorite character. Character creator would be to customize you hero for their world. For example medieval superman.
tbf DC Legends is the least jewy mobile game I've ever played.
Because DC can't afford to make new games
Yeah, just DC Legends. Until they release that Korean one in the west, so never.
Playing it now as we speak. It's still kinda fun and always interesting to see which two new characters get added every month
They need to nerf fucking Batgirl and clown cunt though. And both Wonder Girls.
The fuck are you on about? That game is typical grindy gacha bullshit, the only mobile shit that doesn't try to squeeze your wallet dry every 5 minutes are the games you have to actually buy to play.
Why not? It's noticeably better than WoW or TOR and those are still alive.
Play lord of the rings online instead.
Venezuela is awesome.
Lmao literally just log in everyday and sometimes do your missions. You don't have to spend a dime on it because the game throws it's premium currency at you every chance it gets.
People still play MMOs? Like other than a couple of them? Damn, I thought that fad was long over. Do people still play a lot of MOBAs too?
>literally just log in everyday
Why?
The log in rewards are crazy. You get 6k of the gems or whatever they're called a month and enough to unlock whatever new character is added for the month and level him/her up a few times.
If you don't want to play it, it's worth it to just open the game everyday, collect the rewards then close it and save up for a month where a character you do want is in the shop. Then you can get them to legendary because you have like 40K gems saved up.
It's also not a gacha game if you don't want it to be. You can roll for characters but that's a waste and there are other ways to get characters through the events every week or the pvp stuff. It's a really f2p friendly game.
No, why would I want to play a phone game?
>Champions still exists
Barely
Then don't play idc. I was just clearing things up for that other user who called it a typical grindy gacha game.
It's like Marvel's releasing a new mobile game every month. DC I guess thinks they do better with the home console market.
Jesus you are right. That's a lot of games
Don't get me wrong all of them are decent to good, but they're cucking DC in that market apparently so hard DC won't even try.
>Marvel Zeroes
>gacha cancer
>decent to good
You have to go back.
Maybe I should said enjoyable to good.
>enjoyable
You're still absolutely wrong and you still do not belong on Yea Forums.
This is the game that made a Wikipedia vandalism edit cannon in the DC Universe.
Nobody belongs anywhere.
Come sit with me on the couch and watch tv.
Based D*sney shill
>Oracle
>Not being a villain so you could hear based Calculator
What happened with Gazillion?
Calculator voice is smooth as fuck.
Whats the story behind this?
I'm amazed more studios don't come out with more superhero games. They're basically a license to print money look at Spider-Man. The concept should be white hot at this time yet we've only got that one terrible looking Avengers game on the horizon
Marvel/Disney and DC/WB can be a bitch to work with thanks to their arbitrary restrictions and these games only sell based on brand recognition so there's no point in going with a non-Big Two property or making your own superhero shit.
James Marsters from Buffy and Runaways does the VA for Luthor in the game and he is LEXCELLENT. He should have the role in more media.
Any MMO that continues to get support is successful. These fuckers die the second it doesn't become profitable. So they're making their money.
I’m pretty sure some of those games were released before the merger
Like half of them are dead now too
ladderbro was dropped repeatedly while still a ladderbabe
>DCUO has been around long enough to see Superman lose the trunks and then regain them
Weird
>Pay popular nerd actors like the Firefly cast to voice major characters
>Don't have the money to bring them back for updates so have to replace them
Baldwin stunk as Superman anyway
Omega completely ruined the game, but I do really miss the old days.
The combat at least tried to be more involved than other MMOs but everything about this game's character creator offends me
Not really, the movement and weapon powers only work for mobs and the core power works exactly like every MMO's hotbar. So, every boss fight is just you going over your rotation repeatedly.
>This is the game that made a Wikipedia vandalism edit cannon in the DC Universe.
How so?
The loading screens are pretty damn good
I miss when Harley Quinn was cute and not farting all the time
I saved my favorite for last
I miss when Harley Quinn didn't exist
Your mother misses when you didn't exist.
My mother loves me user
>that one time Larkin Love did a Power Girl cosplay
Damn, you must be old
Yeah :(
Love fades.
Its okay, being a virgin forever allows for a life of freedom and dedication to our hobbies. Things le waifu meme ruin
What’s hilarious to me is that it’s a big waste of money because they have to go back and redub all the old dialogue too.
Disney's policy towards video games is fucking baffling. Everything with how they've handled the SW video game license has been borderline retarded.
RIP
loved rogue, played a hunter build and had about 10+ pets
loved making hulk gold tier, it was really fun with the hulk smashing
it's too bad about the drama about FF and MH shutting down. what a fantastic game it was. A shame it could get costly but still really enjoyable in the amount of builds you could create
City of Heroes' character customization is still amazing to this day.
Is it still fun? Should I come back?
>people are also pissed off about CoX still
Then I have some good news for you.
I was just playing it yesterday.
What is the ladder in ladderbro even referring?
On a respectable server like Rebirth, correct?
I played Thing and it was the most fun I've ever had in any ARPG
Excelsior.
It's the one my dad plays on.
it kills me
