That was Hickman being a retard and I don't think anyone came out great from his Avengers series. Besides you know he has a Reed and Doom boner and whoever Reed was with his side was going to win. Hickman even compared Cap to Captain Ahab JFC. Ibwas going to say hiw Marvel esitors should have stopped hum but then again these guys let Spencer do Secret Empire.

Honestly? Instead of having Cap go full retard, and have Sunspot get him to calm his tits for a bit. Cap should have been the one to go "this is really fucked up. but we need to set aside our differences and help people" and then basically give the speech from OPs image.
Cap is the guy who should have been the one to point out that if everything is dying and there is no way to stop it, then everyone needs to move on to the next step with is somehow surviving it.
Sunspot having the role he had was cool and all, but its not where the story should have gone.
But no, Hickman had to give in to his inner fanboy so he could ride Sunspot and Reed's dick just a bit more.
