usually when producers are turned down they'll just move to the next actor on the list, rarely do they ask again for the same part, but feige knew it was evans and definitely made the right call

That was a correct assumption to make. GOTG should've flopped horribly. Based on everything people knew about GOTG at the time, you'd assume a movie like that would end up down their with Thor 2 and Hulk as the lowest rated Marvel flicks. But, they completely diverged from the source material and managed to turn it into a pretty good series so far.

It was completely reasonable at the time. To add to that, at the time she was still up and coming and even now isn't anywhere near one of the biggest actors.
