So does DC still give a shit about Doomsday Clock anymore? When it was first released they were pushing it as THE event of the decade but now it's pretty much forgotten. Also when the fuck does it take place? I keep reading that it takes place one year in the future of prime earth, but the series has been delayed so terribly that it seems like any plans to lead current titles into it will be incredibly messy. How can DC save this almost-wreck?

Didio and Johns are at opposite ends of the spectrum in terms of valuing continuity and history so since Didio has a lot of control right now he's downplaying the book as much as possible

It's no longer canon.

I honestly don't think it was ever canon.

It's pretty much long past the point of salvaging it. Since Johns appears to be in the midst of some behind-the-scenes breakdown which has lead to a delay in ALL his current books, to the point where even Gary Frank's glacial drawing pace can't be used as an excuse anymore, the best Didio can do is move on ahead without him.

I'm pretty sure from the beginning it was meant to be one of those things that retcons itself at the end, the whole "set one year in the future" thing screams that

False. Snyder misspoke and corrected himself

Well considering that every issue is a top seller regardless of the delays it's not as bad as Yea Forums keeps hoping it is.

I mean it is terrible but there is no denying that it still winds up in the top 10 sales charts whenever a new issue does actually drop, yes.

This feels like direct sabotage by Dan Didio in a petty pissing contest against Johns. Although to be fair, Geoff should have prewrote the thing and gotten a faster artist
