What's incredible to me is that the US keeps buying movie rights to popular Japanese properties, like Pikachu and Godzilla (which aren't cheap) and hand them off to China's Legendary Studios, who reliably turn them into flops (and kill all the Japanese characters). Legendary even makes The Rock movies flop.
It's like Legendary is where IPs go to die now.
They used to be pretty decent before the buyout.

I just saw it. It's definitely different then Guillermo del Toro. Baba Yaga steals the show for what time she's there. Unfortunately Guillermo del Toro commitment to practical effect puts a big bar that the new movie failed to reach.
David Harbour is okay as Hellboy, but I was they gave him more scenes where he talks calmly and not shouting one liner.
