Just because the tagline was "Legendary af" that doesn't mean the studio had anything to do with Lionsgate's movie you retarded fuck

What's incredible to me is that the US keeps buying movie rights to popular Japanese properties, like Pikachu and Godzilla (which aren't cheap) and hand them off to China's Legendary Studios, who reliably turn them into flops (and kill all the Japanese characters). Legendary even makes The Rock movies flop.

It's like Legendary is where IPs go to die now.
They used to be pretty decent before the buyout.

I was honestly really excited when they revealed David Harbour was going to be Hellboy but he did a shit job, or at least the director did a shit job with him.

I unironically enjoy it when people bloat up the predictions for non-Disney films and gladly eat up bowls of shit with "At least its not Disney!" grins on their faces.

I just saw it. It's definitely different then Guillermo del Toro. Baba Yaga steals the show for what time she's there. Unfortunately Guillermo del Toro commitment to practical effect puts a big bar that the new movie failed to reach.

David Harbour is okay as Hellboy, but I was they gave him more scenes where he talks calmly and not shouting one liner.

This movie actually had plenty of quips, but they were all bad. Not a single joke in the movie landed.

Or maybe it's just that Disney has a few genuinely fantastic movies under the Marvel belt while DC had trash that was only good for comedic value.
At least Aquaman and Shazam came out.

I liked it.

As a massive Hellboy fan this hurt a lot more than it would have otherwise. At least the ending of the comics sort of salvaged itself with the final issue else I would have been really down in the dumps.

The acting is bad, the CGI is bad, the pacing and writing are very bad, the way they integrate things from the comics was bad, too.

I will say, Gruaganch was the best part of the whole movie. Would bone down on.

The structure is all kinds of fucked up, it jumps around way too much.

Killing him off hurt the movie. I understand the big bad get's priority but his story was far more interesting.

The problem is the "Big Bad" didn't do JACK FUCKING SHIT. She watched TV, wandered about, made passes at Hellboy...like, shit, man, the CGI creatures did more than she did. She was boring, a complete void of anything to be a character.

The pigs story should have been three parts
A changing replaces a baby, Hellboy replaces the changeling.

The pig is angry for taking away what was supposed to be his life. The girl is grateful for Hellboy saving her from the witches

Now where they start fucking up. The pig dies before he get's any closure on Hellboy. Alice never meets with the pig who was supposed to be her changeling. So his story is very blue balls.
