I tried M&M 2e once or twice back in the day. Did they ever fix character creation or does it still take a million hours just to end up with a broken game full of minmaxed Shazam-Lanterns?

Want to run a game of Die this month.

I've played little a d&d but not much of anything else.

Just use the free version of Hero Lab to build a character if you don't want to do the math that's what my gorup does

No but that's because Superheroes in general aren't on the same powerlevels as there teammates it's why Batman can be on a team with Superman and Green Lantern. M&M is more roleplaying then game and the the GM is suppose to veto any powers or powersets he doesn't want or thinks might be overpowered

What’s that about?

Basically you buy booster packs of your favorite heroes (DC,MARVEL,TMNT etc) and build a team. Team building is done by having a certain amount of points with each figure being worth x amount of points so there's no limits to how many characters a player controls unless it goes beyond the point limit. Each figure has a card that tells you the abilites and features of each character and there's a dial on every piece that tells you how much hp each character has. So when you get hit you turn the dial on the piece. Now the interesting thing is that Everytime you turn the dial the abilites of the character change as well.

The actual game is just standard wargame stuff with moving your characters to a spot and rolling to hit. But the map can also have obsticles and objects that certain characters can throw and use or if you use the right combination of moves do stuff like a speedball special

M&M doesn't take a ton of time compared to a lot of /tg/ stuff, and it's build to hand wave a lot of issues so you can make a mistake and roll with it.
I hope this game takes off, love the class systems

I've played some M&M 2e

What's better 2e or 3e?

Why are there no AI gm'ed tabletop game? Are the AI today not advanced enough to create a rich fantasy story that is adaptable towards human input?

Depends on what you're looking for. M&M 3e was the basis for the last DC RPG.

>a rich fantasy story
If you to be an epic mary sue go play Skyrim.

Sentinels of the Multiverse is great. The designers have been going over the lore that's been hinted on the cards since it released on a podcast called The Letters Page for a few years now.

The fact that they made not just a fictional superhero setting, but also a fictional company complete with a history of releases, retcons and poorly received arcs. It's all very impressive to me.

I'm very happy the rpg is coming out soon, and I want to run as many games of it online as possible.

Does the RPG look any good?

AI is not nearly sophisticated enough for that, once they are able to write and draw comics they will be ready for table top RPGs. Cause table top games are all about storytelling
