As I have never given a shit about Death Battle before, the Ben v Hal video was the first I had ever seen.
And honestly, the animated duo seemed so bad in terms of comedy that by the end of it, I didn't care what their opinion would be either way. They remind me of family guy characters voiced by high-schoolers. If they came to the right conclusion at all, it wouldn't be because they thought it out.

Watching it right now and that weird trucker dude looks like a store brand Peter griffin and is 1/4 as funny.

they've come to the right conclusion before, but like you said. they stumbled into it. if they understood the media better they'd know X would at bare minimum be capable of everything displayed in the prime universe, so it would be an infinite speed blitz with constant energy absorption that would knock his head off from the start.

I always assumed that Hal would win due to the GL ring being more powerful than most of Ben's forms AND the obvious Gap in experience.

Hal went full anime right before and after rebirth.

Hal vs Ben is one of those casual filter shit tests that's easy to do. If they think Ben wins because muh Alien X, they only know Hal from cartoons. A Benfag that actually read the comics would make arguments like "Well, he was amped on the gauntlet when he fought time displaced Parallax Hal and the gauntlet was what made him pure will" but this ignores that later when he switched out the gauntlet for the will-forged ring he was STILL able to go full willpower like he did against Parallax Sinestro amped by the fear engine.

A better ending would have been Hal doing exactly what he did in the Sinestro fight and exploding in a shower of cosmic will killing Alien X but surviving as a sliver of will on his ring. A fully motivated UGHHHH BEWARE MY POWER Hal is able to punch WAYYYYYYY above his normal weight class. That's something Death Battle should have explained better.

Vilgax vs ridley would be fun to watch. Wonder what they would call the song.
