It's a scene; spend enough among people who draw like that and eventually it'll spread and make its way up as people part of that scene become more successful.
It happened in the 40s with UPA. It happened in the 90s with Spumco. It'll happened again in the 20s when there's something new to gawk at.

It’s so fucking funny how Glimmer looks EXACTLY like the image on the left.
Almost all of these only have the dark skin and hair style similar and are missing everything else from the guide. Stop pushing the narrative.
