It ran its course.
This was one of the first alternate universe story I ever discovered, so seeing all my favorite heroes die or be turned in a time when the zombie craze was ramping up really intrigued me. Would be cool to see a reboot in a modern Marvel setting.
it was great, but now Disney says there can be no Zombie superheroes.
>that Sandman/Spiderman vore death scene
>Spiderman using his veins and arteries as webbing
>Hank Pym admitting he'd still want to be a cannibal even if they found a cure
>Black Panther kept in a coma so the zombies could cut off body parts and eat pieces of him over time
>pretty much every death scene
How this shit was allowed but Universal Studios couldn't do the Marvel Halloween Horror Nights event with the props of the dead/decapitated superhero bodies astounds me. And with the way Marvel is now, I can't imagine Disney ever allowing anything like this.
I mean, if even if they did decide to bring it back, MZ was made during the Walking Dead zombie craze and thus probably wouldn't be that popular today.
The worst kind of edgy tripe
fuck that sandman scene. still triggers me
I think it could be since it's not the zombie factor that makes it interesting but the gore and the lengths they're willing to go to sate their hunger. There's a level of angst and graphic, grimdark edge in this that casuals are drawn to.
It was interesting at first but really overstayed its welcome. If it was just the UFF arcs, the first mini and the Army of Darkness crossover, I think it would've been stronger.

What's the story about that?
And a lot of this stuff happened under Quesada's watch, he was more flexible with letting creators do what they wanted.

There did end up being a restriction after Disney bought them. It's like said, the only Marvel Zombies that have been shown have been predominantly villain zombies. Only on very rare occasions do you see zombie superheroes. Like for instance in Secret Wars, you see zombie Wolverines, a zombie Hulk, and a cameo of a zombie Spider-Man, but the vast majority of zombies were villains. Or the Zombies Assemble manga, which I believe only got through because the heroes turned back to normal at the end.
But if you look at all the Marvel Zombie merchandise in the 2010's, it's zombie villains.
