So now that it's confirmed that old cap just came back from an alt timeline instead of a loop whose to say he didn't...

>Taking the stones created alternate timelines, putting them back erased the alternate timelines.
Why did they bother bringing Mjolnir back to it own timeline then? Just put stone back it erases timeline right?
No. Every action including taking stone away creates new timeline.

No, because it's something that always happens within this iteration of time. Notice that Peggy's husband is never pictured, only her children. When she meets Steve in winter soldier she remarks as to how young he looks. Why would that be something she needs to focus on if she hadn't grown old with him. He does know the rules of time travel though. Changes to history wouldn't do anything for the timeline would just cause branches, not change his reality.

What it comes down to is that until they specify in movie, you can choose to believe either or and you won't be wrong. Side with the writers or directors. It's Schrodinger's Cap.

>So now that it's confirmed
why did you need that confirmed when the movie fucking told you in the first place

My peepee too small

>When he asked if anyone wanted to step out of the elevator they all did

Or he could've waited a second past when he originally left and time traveled back into the past, which would have been the present just after his young self left. They can travel freely backwards to wherever and whenever they want, as previously demonstrated
