Look, I don't think Tom Holland is a bad actor. But after Endgame I just can't view him as Spider-Man. The character is so subservient and naive in a way that doesn't feel like any version of Pete that I've read.
I've read a couple hundred issues of ASM.
Is this more his Ultimate personality?

who gives a shit?
Most directors tend to forget that Spider-Man is a frustratingly annoying smartass that most heroes cannot stand to be around.
," he asked on a board for discssion comics, cartoons, and their established characters
It's completely fine to feel that way OP. MCU Peter is like watered down Spider-Man, partly in an effort to differentiate from past incarnations. Personally I think PS4 Spider-Man is the best cinematic Peter we've gotten in a LONG time. A lot of people think the appeal of the character is being an inexperienced young hero, when in reality what makes Parker special is just being a regular joe who just tries to make ends meet while carrying the responsibility of saving people due to having the power to do more than others.

Read early Spider man.
Nigga Pete was in high school for a VERY brief period and was in college. Furthermore, he went to the Fantastic Four for cash, not to gush over them
It's not what he's usually like in the Ultimate universe, but I get the vibe it's probably at least partly inspired by a very short period in his USM run; an arc where the older and more experienced superheroes took an interest in his activities and were supposed to start mentoring him. But nothing actually came out of it because Pete's death happened very soon afterwards.
I don't mind seeing the "young fanboy Peter mentored by adult capes" thing now, since I felt kinda robbed back when that plot thread was abruptly cut short in USM.
They're going to keep him around for another decade and even Tom Holland must age you'll get your experienced Spider-Man in a few years
