Its sad because in the first season it was a lot more balanced (remember when Robin used to be a cheapskate but is mostly just a no fun punching bag?)

The only one that has a slight edge over the 2003 counterpart I think is starfire because TTG showing her like the disgusting, clueless, bizarre fish-out-of-the-water alien with retarded english is a better display of her and kinda mateches TTG overall retardedness

I don't understand why they decided to take Robin's character in the direction they did. I totally understand why they turned him into a nutcase because even though I don't always find it amusing, it makes sense because it's kind of like a parody of how obsessive he was in the original. What I don't get is why they made him the punch bag. I want to believe that it's poking fun at the absurdity of having someone with no superpowers trying to shoehorn himself into a setting with superheroes but with the way that the characters just straight up shit on him, it just comes off as the writers having a weird hate boner against the character.
Since Raven is being talked about in this thread, I think she would have been better is she still kept her dry and sarcastic personality from the earlier seasons instead of being just as excitable as the rest of the cast. It's just that all of the characters feel less unique from each other now.
