Batman was pretty serious in that show, though. In fact, a lot of the humor came from him being the straight man to everyone else.

That was basically how it was in '66 too. Bruce just works as a straightman to Gotham's crazy bullshit.

hoss del gado pretty much nailed it

This was a really fun show.
Why did people harp on it so much?

Because B:TAS came first. The colossal amount of nostalgia for that series means that anything that is not exactly like it is immediately deemed a useless failure.

NOT
MUH
BATMAN

BATMAN DOES NOT EAT NACHOS

It was too good, so it hurt every other show's feelings.

Is that supposed to be Katana? I don't remember her design looking like that.

I feel like this show was the single best thing to happen to the Silver Age of Comics in decades. It brought all the fun and energy from those without the campiness and made a coherent whole.

Aquaman’s face seems different compared to the final product. These might be early designs?

Because it's different, so it scares them.

It's funny to think BatB was so hated compared to how beloved it is now. I know it happened, but it's hard to reconcile.

Who’s bottom right?

It came out right after The Dark Knight.

>musical
>good

Katana

As one '66 showrunner said, you have to treat the roles with absolute conviction. You got to play it straight or the humor just falls apart.

It's rather surprising how few people understand that.

>Implying it was just the Silver Age

Did you forget that the JSA was in this series?

I think BATB had the potential to do lot more with the universe they created, which makes it's cancellation even more tragic.

/pol/ got the creator arrested so they canceled the show

My dream animated DC movie is a Brave and the Bold version of that unmade Batman vs Godzilla concept.

Were you the one who suggested the Toho Universe aliens team up with the DC villains in the Godzilla film ideas thread in /m/?

Eh, would've been better without Batman. But then again I'm just sick of Batwank.

Yes

Nice. I loved the "Black Manta gets Titanosaurus" bit

>which makes it's cancellation even more tragic.

It got a full 65 episode run, a video game, an even a DTV 10 years later. It did fine.
