Just about any given Kirby end boss would be a megacrossover event-level threat in the DCU.

Well he'd instantly enslave anyone not immune to mind control, so who does that leave?

If what Starfire in the original Titans cartoon said is true then Most Tamaraneans would actually be able to hurt him.

His weakness is positive emotion so anyone that can fire something like a happiness beam into his face would do some damage.

That being said he is a cheating mother fucker so expect him to have brainwashed a few planet's worth of armies to stand between him and the asshole firing beams of Kitten's dreams and fairy dust.

See Zero would fuck all of the street/light cosmis level characters. Except MAYBE Batman if the writer is the type of batwanker who is beyond retarded. The heavy cosmic/multiversal characters would be the only ones able to even face him, not even a guaranteed win the first wave or so. In the end, the DCU would survive, but he would definitely do some damage on his way out.

Zero's weakness to love and hope is usually only made apparent as he's getting bombarded by weapons purely embodying such things, whilst said weapons are being wielded and boosted even further by entities entirely composed out of positivity and hope. Who also happen to be sub-divisions of Zero/Void that broke off and fragmented from the whole, becoming forces for good.

Static and Plastic man have also been shown to be immune, oddly enough.
What's probably gonna be their saving grace is anyone touching Wonder Woman's lasso is too, so if they need to recruit a specific Justice League member to defeat Zero, they can, they'll just have to defeat their possessed version first.

So who in DC has the power to harm Zero and could/would Wonder Woman, Dr. Fate, Static, Plastic-Man, and The Specter defeat their dark version?

The Imperials would just take to screeching about the God-Emperor incessantly and about how Earth has been tainted by "filthy xenos and abhumans." I'd even expect them to go crazy enough to try and contact the Imperium proper to purge everything or if that's not in the cards, turn DC Earth INTO the Imperium.

I'd honestly expect DC civvies to get tired of them pretty quickly.

So here's how I'm seeing this:
Zero appears in the sky above DC Earth one day. Martian Manhunter notices him immediately, but it's too late, he's already here, as Zero's mind and body are one.
Instantly, every mind on Earth is infused with Zero. Except for the five mentioned here . Wonder Woman uses the lasso on Batman, who explains exactly what happened to everyone because after experiencing it first hand he just understands because he's Batman. However being forced out of someone's mind attracts Zero's attention, and he focuses everyone's attention on those five, causing Batman to come loose from the rope in the fight, revealing people must remain in contact with it to remain immune to Zero.
Outnumbered and out gunned, Fate teleports them out while Specter stays behind to fight the possessed Justice League on his own. Wonder Woman mentions somewhere on Themyscira she knows that "Even the gods can't see" and they go their to lay low and make a battle plan.
A month goes by without them having any success fighting off Zero, until a literal ray of hope shines down. When Green Lantern's ring detected a forceful removal of all willpower within it's host, it activated an automatic function and flew off to Oa on it's own as a distress beacon. Unable to spare any more forces to Earth's sector they don't help much, but they call someone who can. The Blue Lanterns rain down on Zero, accompanied by the Star Sapphires. Analysis by Green Lantern's ring showed he was vulnerable to both love and hope, and while the Guardian's relationship with the Sapphires is shaky, the Blue Lanterns had no problem asking them for help. But it's still not enough.

The Blue and Pink Lanterns wage a battle against Zero, and while they're not enough to destroy him, they certainly gain his attention. Leaving Wonder Woman and company free to pursue their target; Superman.
Between the four of them they manage to lasso Dark Superman, and clue him into what's going on. Equipping rings from some of the lanterns Zero's slain, they prepare for the final battle.
Lasso in one hand, Ring in the other, Blue Lantern Superman and Star Sapphire Wonder Woman fly into space to fight Zero Head on. Now directly in from of Zero, his eye focuses on them. But those who are Zero are also Zero, so everyone on Earth also sees them, and when they see that S the tiniest bit of themselves that still exists somewhere inside them feels a tiny spark of hope.
Elsewhere, A forced whisper barely escapes the lips of a still possessed Shazam as he manages to say what everyone on Earth wants to; "Get 'em Superman"
And with all of Humanities last hope flowing through him, with all Earth's love following right behind him, the two of them punch Zero right in the eye, destroying his body and sending his eyeball soaring out into deep space. Freeing the Earth from his corruption, for now.

Zero is a Void Termina who reincarnated when negative energy got gathered. He is essentially the reincarnation of a god (similarly to Kirby) and the only thing capable of damaging him are good emotions, other dark matters (such as Gooey) or legendary weapons of similar properties (Galaxia, Shard Gun). For exemple, the only way to defeat Zero in Kirby's Dream Land 3, is by helping everyone on your path, so that by the end of it, you're able to create the Love-Love Stick, which is made of everyone's gratitude and love.
When Zero first gets on Pop Star, his tentacles (black clouds) start spreading through the whole planet which started corrupting it's inhabitants. In 64, he is able to corrupt Ripple Star (Ribbon's home planet) in literal seconds.

I vaguely recall hearing around the time Brawl came out that Sakurai had stated that Dedede isn't evil, but he IS a huge jerk.

Dedede still appears as a villain in Kirby spin offs, like Battle Royale and Blowout Blast. It's just the Kirby series generally keeps the main threats to the main games themselves, so there's little space for Dedede wanting to beat Kirby as revenge for his past losses there since there's always something bigger going on.

Dedede is still an asshole and plays the villain role from time to time, it's just that he also has to constantly deal with bigger threats that always overshadows him unlike the other well known Nintendo anatagonists. Also he is the most consistent antagonist the series has aside from Dark Matter and Nightmare in the anime.

My original theory was that obviously Morpho and Galacta are two of the four original knights, but that Dark Meta Knight was the third one. Since the knights seem to have suffered different punishments (Galacta incased in crystal and being wherever he is, Morpho turned into a butterfly) my thought was that DMK was banished to the mirror dimension, and that Meta Knight is a "Meta" Knight because he modeled himself after the knights of old.

Either way, Superman saved Lex multiple times from life threatening situations as he is only human. It does at least show that Superman understand how fragile lifeforms can be as opposed to Kirby where he beats the living shit out of anyone, not because he can but because his opponents can handle it. He only goes into overdrive when a foe actually threatens him and his people that Kirby would get or summon those kind of mystical objects and I think that would be a similar case for Superman as well.

The only caveat to this is that Kirby has "killed" zero before and the thing just sort of came back. I don't think you can really kill zero, hell, I think his black cloud form would be enough to do a lot of damage, let alone his white ball form. What I kind of want to see is zero take over some creatures like Mogo and what not. He could probably take over the red and yellow lantern corps and power them up a fuck ton too.

Also, other kirby lore elements are worth considering too. Like the galactic nova (or any of that ancient tech bullshit), the mirror, or just the common, but fun plot point of kirby games in which some schlock suddenly gets the fucking sword of Damocles.

Yeah, thinking about someone like Luthor trying to use it would spell doom for everyone, including himself.

Spectre could possibly find a way to avoid Zero from coming into existence within the DC universe, but Darkseid would most likely want to control it or maybe, at the very least, welcome it to become as one.

Star Dream was actually pretty scary at the end of Robobot despite being a giant :3. The thing was comparable in size to Popstar and it was casually warping itself and comparably sized weapons between dimensions while it was charging up an attack that dwarfed the Halberd.
