But now that Hargreeve's dust has settled what did you think about it?

I quite enjoyed it. I thought Ellen Page was fantastic.

I liked but also disliked Ben's role. Him being there as voice of conscious made sense and was heart warming in some ways. But his powers are lame as fuck.

I was bored and dropped it halfway through the season like most cape netflix shows. I haven't picked up the comic but thought this adaptation was really dull, I know there's nothing new under the sun but the powers weren't particularly new or interesting nor were the story lines. The Misfits dude was cool but that's just because he barely needs direction to have charisma and be entertaining. Is the comic decent?

It reminds me of a time when super hero movies weren't for kids. They were, but also plenty adult
Punisher
Ghost Rider
X-Men
Hulk
Blade
Back when every super hero movie was an experiment and directors we're free to just make something and not have to worry about fitting it into a movie franchise.

The sisterfucking was weird, like I know she's not his blood sister, but Jesus.

I agree. Glad the timeline they went with was where he lost his v-card to a raver with a furry fetish

I quite liked it.
Although that could just be that I have terrible taste in media

I feel like that. I'll go to the store grab a b-movie at random. Some are good some are bad.

The pacing is some of the most dragged out I’ve ever seen. I’m usually able to look over the whole “problem would’ve been solved if they just talked to each other” plot contrivances, but this show relied on it WAY too much. It starts to seem as if they think the audience is more invested in petty family drama than stopping the apocalypse. I had to stop watching at ep 5.
Not to mention, a lot of the things they were going for I’ve seen done more competently in other shows and movies. And for some reason, for the main draw of the show, “dysfunctional superheroes”, they had strange priorities with the “superheroes” part. Fight scenes with certain characters are good, but other characters with otherwise straightforward powers are treated inconsistently for the sake of plot. One specific character had powers that required no special effects budget, but never used them because- THAT’S RIGHT! It would solve the problems too quickly, thus compromising the plot.

It’s too bad, because I actually wanted to find out where it was going. I looked up episode summaries afterward and thought “Huh, this would’ve actually been pretty interesting to see”.
Then I remembered how it would’ve been executed.

5/10 would’ve been better as a less dragged out movie.
