I'll take generic over awful.

It was less generic than the current one plus it tingled my dingle more.

It was honestly great, great contrast of black + yellow bolt and hair with a red sash complimenting her long hair as a stand-in for a generic cape. Now she has a suit that's either taticool or just an odd fullbody latex one depending on the artist, her hair ranges from toothbrush to medium length which, combined with an at times much shorter sash (which blends in with the suit's colors too much regardless of it's length), detracts from the flowing imagery that makes her flying art look far less interesting than before. Her blue/red color scheme is of course quite possibly the most dull and generic combination for any hero that doesn't have a storied history behind it like Superman or Spider-man do, leaving her feeling more like a one-off generic design meant to last for only a few stories instead of a fully realized character.

I still find her old suit the best, it was a great homage to her predecessor and she was the only Marvel hero who wore a scarf as part of her attire, making her easily identifiable. Its a shame that even in her first outing she wasn't all that good, not bad like she is now, but not good...

I always thought the exposed stomach and completely covered shoulders looked a bit goofy and... Christ, it took me this god damned long to realize the design connection to Kamala's scarf. I feel so stupid right now.

It was dull.
All that costume did was tick the boxes for "female superhero" and then threw in a lightning bolt logo as an homage to THE WRONG CAPTAIN MARVEL.
In fact, her new suit's design elements are just a remix of Mar-vell's costume and I doubt anyone here is going to start calling that a shit design.

Scarves are cooler than sashes, not to mention the original is a direct homage to her predecessor which is pretty nice.

Memes aside left is a better design that right, more detail is not always better. Her black suit had strong color contrast that made her pop out of the background and giver her a clear silhouette.

The early design made her look naked, everything but the legs are covered so she looks like she forgot to wear pants that day.

My favorite design is the one from the cartoon. Best of both world.

They were contemporaries. I always thought it was weird that she was running around in a copy of Marv's outfit despite them only interacting like once in her first run.

The lightning bolt sucks. The star of gala is a generic cosmic symbol but at least it looks like it actually fits on the costume.

Anyway, people need to look at how Carol is being portrayed today not like a couple years back when she went through her trans phase. Today she has her long hair back, she is busty even through a rather form-concealing uniform jacket, she has the arms/legs/shoulders/hips of a female. And here we even see her in action in space without that FUCKING STUPID mohawk helmet that I've yet to see a single person enjoy.

Her shemale phase was only part of the problem. Granted, it was a major part, but the fundamental problem with modern Carol is the constant shilling by Marvel and Disney, and the forced praise she gets within her stories. She never earned it. All the attention and success she gets just fall on her lap. When she inevitably fucks up, her mistakes get swept under the rug or are blamed on someone else. She's a walking charity case that Marvel wants us to believe is an icon on the same level as Wonder Woman. No thank you, Marvel.
