As far as Kevin Smith Yea Forums recommendations, I can’t think of any comics, but the Clerks animated series is still a gem.

I only read a few of comics by him. One was about Black Cat's secret origin as a rape victim. One had Nightcrawler going into detail about the Nazi persecution of the mutants. One was a Batman comic where Joker says he 'bottoms from the top'. And then I've of course seen the panel suggesting Batman pissed himself. So fair to say I don't have a high opinion of him as a comic writer. His movies have been a mixed bag too. I obviously don't wish him any harm, and I'm glad he didn't die, but it wasn't exactly surprising that he had heart trouble given his obesity. He's probably a nice enough guy but I'm not that impressed by anything he's done.
