Archer

This. After watching the dream he has I thought to myself that it'd be hilarious if that turned out to be the actual season. It did, and somehow it was way too boring. I had gotten tired of the show by that point and from what I've read about the other stupid reboots, so have the writers/cast.

First four seasons were good. The first episode of Vice was absolute thunder and actually made me look forward to the rest of the season...that turned out underwhelming and lackluster as all hell and it only got worse from there.

I think I just miss the simplicity and episodic format of the first few seasons, they focused more on the writing the actual comedy. I guess it's when they realized they could do the Netflix format of making seasons about one long plot is when interest waned. Recurring jokes aren't as funny if they are a part of the same plot.

When did it go bad? It feels so long ago. Must've been like 2012 right?

They’re tired of it but are being forced to keep making more.
Hence why they keep changing it into an entirely different show on the regular; to try and keep it interesting for them.

I mean I haven't watched the show in ages but the whole thing with the show was the same jokes getting recycled over and over. I didn't mind it and expected it to keep happening

Reed wanted to move on to another show but FX didn't want to let Archer go so they killed his new project. He's obviously had enough which is why he's leaving the show anyway.

The episodes felt a lot shorter too. The whole season felt like it would had been just one or two episodes if it was in seasons 2 or 3.

Same. The creators clearly became bored with the show, and so with Vice and on, they're constantly finding ways to reinvent Archer instead of just ending it and starting a new project.

It's a shame because pre-Vice Archer is almost constantly fantastic.

Because instead of getting dicked about by [AS] they got dicked around by FX.

They still had three solid seasons, even if it couldn't compete with Frisky Dingo while borrowing half of the good jokes and getting some top tier voice talent again.

I forgot didn't he have a bounty hunter show similar to Archer in the works? Is that the project he had to shelve?

I am always impressed with the voice acting in the first few seasons of Archer. The flow and timing of dialogue between characters is insanely natural given it's an animated format.

Then the dialogue became shouting the same memes every episode.

He had a female-led post apocalyptic show that took place in the deep south called Cassius and Clay. The pilot was made but never aired, and they were originally supposed to have a 10 episode season but FX scrapped it.
