Hey guys, it's me. Im just going to drum up a little more disscussion about the new villain team we talked about last time. I've come up with a name for them; the cosmic crushers!

I don't think it's a good idea to make them actually directly opposed to the Cosmic Crusaders, because the Crusaders have a lot going on already and I don't think they really need a counter-group.

They need a goal of their own.

Well, let's look at the members.

Occultist, right hand of a hugely powerful super villain, depressed sad sack who is easily manipulated, guy who wants to kill heroes for sport, ancient NEET, and a thief who just wants to steal magic cloth.

It seems to me their common goal would be finding a way to both usurp the current villains and fuck over the heroes while doing it.

He hasn't had any spotlight on him in years.

That's a given, question is should it be enabled for all posts, or only OPs? It's useful in things like drawthreads for marking deliveries.

Currently names are used for thread titles because they were disabled for some reason.

I just don't see any reason against using them for regular posts too, other than adding a bit of clutter.

Is this an old era Demon or somehow part of the modern era?

I was thinking old era though I can see him being a new era as well. While drawing it, I had an idea that Black Eyes is really a lamprey like worm-thing that bores into people and possesses their body ultimately changing them into something like we see here. He is sitting in the mouth in the image. I was thinking he would have regal mannerisms and speech.

So this one type of parasitic demon possesses a host and starts modifying them, the modifications include room for OTHER types of parasitic demons that are symbiotic with the one possessing the host.

It makes holes for them to get into the host and then they can do all kinds of things, like become armor, tentacle whips, wings, horns, you name it.

I think they're saying maybe it's not just drilling holes, it's drilling sockets.

The image I've made of him would be one I would say lasts him a long time. I was thinking he loses this body in a fight with skathi and in turn holds a grudge against the ice giant. One of the reasons I would think he would fit in the past and carry on through the years. Biding time.

It fizzled out, The guy who was drawing stuff about the Bug Rangers disappeared after a while.
I think it was because he wasn't able to figure out how he wanted it to work.

I'd say human bodies for a more horror aspect of things.

I'm sure someone will find it attractive enough to start up again.

Human bodies are probably far less durable than demon bodies, but with the right modifications and magic they can probably be made into something that fits their needs quite aptly.

I think I still have some pics the Bug Rangers user drew.
What he was struggling with was coming up with a plot. I think he had it in a splinter world created by one of Dr. SCIENCE's paradoxes and history was kind of jumbled with Ladybug being the Terry to Mantis' old Bruce.
But he could just never come up with a solid plot for Ladybug, Bees Knees, Mantis, Alpha, and the others he had in the team to do.

Yeah, but it's probably the most comprehensive list of characters we've got, so there might be some he hasn't seen.

A lot of the old ones are the modern ones, they just had to pledge loyalty to one of the kings.

Those who didn't either left for the frontier planes to look for other sources of magic or are fighting to the death over the orange throne.
Not too many demon still practice the cannibalism and life leaching practices from the old times since they are horribly inefficient. Those who do are the really nasty ones who just enjoy that sort of thing I imagine.

Skathi is very much on my list. I hope to bring that to you SOON. Amongst other things.

Do you think its okay to practice character design while learning construction and how to draw better in general? I want to make comics someday, but I should get a better hand on drawing anatomy and other stuff first right?

Even comics with bad art can be great if the rest makes up the difference.
The thing with anatomy is it just needs to be consistent with everything else in the work.

But that's just my opinion.

I think some of the more powerful old demons are still knocking around even in modern demon society because it would probably take a King to subdue them and it's not worth the trouble. It took the combined effort of a couple Kings and a bit of backstabbing to get Hank chained, and I think the demon judge is supposed to be stronger than him.

I think there's such things as ascended demons, and that judge is one of them.

Lucifuge rofocale? If I'm correct, when I made him, I designed him for nsfw art but then I decided he would work well in demon stories on here, especially with Eisheth.

So where does this story fit in? Part of the main /coc/verse, or its own continuity?

I'd like to slot it into the main universe somehow, but I've never been the best at putting things in.

If it's magic then it can easily be tied into the magic creeping back in plot line that's huge and used as an excuse coupon in many situations.

I want to say America, probably a midwestern area because the prominent locations I've keyed in for her sorta mirror that sort of area. (The manor, pier / fairground, mall, etc.)

That puts it in Yea Forumsntainment's main area then. You said you were thinking about an MIB group getting involved and that's where they are, so it works out.
Midwestern America is a region of interest for armature and professional monster busters. A lot of weird shit happens out there.

Sounds good to me then, I'd draw something to sorta help illustrate things I mean but I'm waiting on a new tablet to arrive. My idea is that I think the phenomenon would be tied to her, and if she were to directly interact with people that own pocket dimensions and stuff she'd yank their places out on occasion as well.
But yeah, I think they'd probably slowly pin her down as (one of) the thing (s) drawing these strange places together. Could be interesting to see how they come to that conclusion.

The idea of cryptids is something I feel we've never explored.
Not sure if she counts as something like that, but she feels like she falls into that sort of weird folksy Americana category.

Maybe she has a bit of a reputation, with rumours floating around regarding what she is. With some people off to one side thinking she's a witch, skinwalker, alien or something else, other people thinking she's just an opportunistic thief searching through these weird places when they show up.
I could see that working, treating her like an urban legend along the lines of mothman, jack the ripper or anything along those lines.

I'd imagine abandoned malls, apartments, amusement parks, piers, and other things just dropping out of the fog like they've been there for years when they very clearly have not only to disappear shortly thereafter would spark many rumors.

Given it's the Midwest, the first people to get in on it before the rumors are verified would either be The Summers Family, the Jackalope, or maybe even the Hobo Intelligence Network.

Just don't let all the pre-existing stuff distract you from any story you're wanting to tell.
It's all available to be used, it shouldn't feel limiting.

The HIN would probably be convenient to use because they basically have fuckall going on. A story that wants to use them could do whatever it wants with them without stepping on any other story's toes.
