Why does CHelsea not get anywhere near the same stick as citeh even though Chelsea were bought by a russian billionaire?

Zoomers were born into a world where Chelsea were already a top club.

Chelsea were already a mid-top tier club with a pretty large following.

That and apart from the first few years they didn't destroy the market by outspending everyone.

This x1000.

NOOOOOOOOOO YOU CANT JUST START COMPETING WITH US FINANCIALLY NO YOURE DESTROYING THE MARKET WE CAREFULLY CRAFTED TO BENEFIT ONLY A FEW CLUBS

>carefully crafted to benefit only a few clubs
Yeah as opposed to being Arab sovereign fund playthings.

I can't wait for Jeff Bezos to buyout every single club.

You've not even made a point here just rambling.

>That and apart from the first few years they didn't destroy the market by outspending everyone.
They did that more so than Man City. In 2005 the world record transfer fee was still only £46mil for Zidane. Chelsea spunked £150mil for two consecutive seasons on transfers. At the time, the transfer fees weren't insanely overinflated yet, it was a much larger share of overall transfers. In Abramovic's first year, they tripled Arsenal's highest-spending season (a season where they earned more in transfer revenue for selling Overmars than spent), and doubled Man Utd's highest-spending season (most of which was offset by selling Jaap Stam and Andy Cole). Even Real Madrid whose transfer policy was to buy all the best players for all of the money only managed to exceed Abramovic's first season of spending 7 years later; the year they bought Ronaldo, Kaka, Benzema, and Xabi Alonso.

The point is they're small time compared to arab oil clubs

>moreso than City
Top kek every season City outspends everyone unless they get fucked by FFP. Even then they tried their best to cheat it and only went quiet when they knew they were being investigated.

Don't get me wrong, City are still ridiculous spenders, but they are in an era of ridiculous spenders. If you look at the other teams in the premier league and abroad, Man City just have their necks ahead of the competition. When Abramovic came to Chelsea, Chelsea were suddenly able to outspend their competition twice over or three times more. I wouldn't be surprised if their net transfer spending was more than every other club in England combined during those seasons.

lol pobrecito.

Shut up Pablo

This.

Kinda crazy zoomers are posting here and genuinely don't remember or know things about the 2000s lol

The New Jersey Devils. I can't believe what they're doing to my boy Ron Low

Chelsea did get the same stick in the immediate years following Abramovich’s takeover.

My United bandwagoner friends moved overnight from giving me shit for supporting a team that didn’t win league titles to calling me a plastic for supporting a team with money.

I agree
