>>Miami not drafting a QB
i gave them a QB, though.
>>Gruden ever working with a rookie QB
he has a 10 year contract, and they have an incumbent starter under contract. they wouldn't have to start him right away.
wouldn't surprise me, but i really think they should go wideout at 11, especially with robby anderson probably leaving.

jets priorities should be offense and helping darnold get more weapons. the whole shit with conklin makes me worried because the jets want him one report and the next one they say he doesnt want to be here

if anything, if jeudy falls to their laps, draft him and dont reconsider. Just get the fucking WR

Aren't the Lions expected to get rid of Slay?

>4. Jeffrey Okudah, CB, New York Giants
No

Simmons won't play LB in the NFL, he'll play Safety. And it won't matter, the Lions have a trash coach, they'll be trash no matter who they take.

>Panthers making Trai Turner available for trade

Ah, yes, just what a 5-11 team needs to do: Get rid of their best O-Lineman and a team captain.

Fuck Mr. Hedgefund and fuck anyone on Twitter who's carrying the water for this. We'll see how supportive everyone is of tanking when the Panthers are a 1-2 win team this year.

> Aren't the Lions expected to get rid of Slay?

Yes, Slay hates Fatty Mattty Patricia and after Builder Bob Quinn stupidly traded away Quandre Diggs to the Seahawks where he had a great season and was in the playoffs and in contention for the Super Bowl, that was the last straw for Slay which is why he’s asking for $15+ million, which he knows the Lions won’t pay (or any other team either) but it will get him traded to a team that at least has a shot at success in the near future, since Slay is going to be 30 years old and CBs don’t last much longer after that.

That said, a LB will still do more for the Lions overall then a CB and Simmons is good enough to play both LB and S, somewhat making up for the loss of Slay on pass defense while bringing much needed help to the Lions defense up front.

Okudah is a really good but as a CB, he won’t be able to pressure/sack the QB or stuff the run.

> Simmons won't play LB in the NFL, he'll play Safety.

He can play both positions with equal success, which makes him more versatile then Okudah.

> And it won't matter, the Lions have a trash coach, they'll be trash no matter who they take.

Well… yeah, but Patricia (and probably Quinn) will be gone after this next shitty season and hopefully OC Darrell Bevell gets promoted to HC.

Martha Ford WANTS a winning team and is doing whatever she can to get there, it just hasn’t happened yet but then she’s only had control of the team since 2014 (and really, only since 2015).

XFL needs to change so that their season falls inline between otas and the NFL pre season. It'll only compete against the MLB. The way it should work is that the best college teams play their championship games, the NFL playoffs have some of the best teams playing each other and culminating in the best teams from 2 divisions, and the XFL follows up what should be weeks of the best football with play that ranges from college level to 2nd/3rd string NFL ball. You can be the opening act or the room clearer. Assuming there's a 2nd season. It'll also leave openings for teams with shitty and long winters to have good games. I'm a Lions fan and I'd go see mid summer football if my team is competitive, I'm sure the rest of the NFCN cities, Cincinnati and Cleveland would fell the same.

What are your thoughts on thicc qt gfs?

He's made the Pro Bowl every year since 2015 and the Panthers have generally been a very good rushing team. When the Panthers can control a game that O-Line blocks like a motherfucker (No one really cares about this though since they've never been particularly good in pass pro).

And by the way, if the Panthers really want to piss Cam off, trading Trai away would be a quick way to do it. He and Trai are tight.

I mean it's even harder to evaluate o-line when you have a running QB who can break contain.

All weekend actually. It’s quite comfy desu

that's not joe judge

40s have to be the most boring thing after a while though, atleast the QB and WR drills are relevant and fun.

Attached: 1578816929219.jpg (1080x1350, 272K)

Having watched the Panthers' O-Line extensively, the strength of that line has been in the interior but they've lacked power at center in recent years. Ryan Kalil dealt with injuries in his final few years and while he was still good he wasn't nearly as strong as he used to be. Matt Paradis was signed in FA to replace him and it's gone poorly. He was coming off a major leg break in 2018 and it was clear based on the fact that he gave up a ton of pressures that he wasn't the same player he was in Denver. Same deal with Daryl Williams who went from All-Pro before blowing his knee out to getting abused every time he stepped on the field.

Carolina has never been able to replace Jordan Gross at left tackle and think they could finally have a guy in Greg Little, but he was hurt most of last year and I'm starting to get serious Jeff Otah flashbacks with him. Greg Van Roten was a prime example of what the old coaching staff was capable of doing - He went from CFLer to third-string center to irreplaceable at left guard. Taylor Moton should get paid like a top right tackle next year but given how bound and determined the Panthers are to get rid of any player who can help them win, who knows if he even has a future in Carolina.

If Ron were still there, I'd say absolutely. Watching him in training camp, it was clear that his shoulder surgery had worked and his arm strength was back. And in the first two games of the season his inaccuracy was because his feet were compromised and he couldn't move - The ball still had zip, and Norv Turner changed the way he saw the field for the better. Olsen, Moore, and Samuel were all wide open against the Bucs on balls where Cam targeted them but missed.

But now that the roster is being gutted and the Panthers obviously want a top draft pick next year, I don't think it's fair to Cam to keep him on and risk getting him even more beat up on an inferior team. Sadly the most likely scenario I see is that the Panthers keep Cam to placate angry fans and sell tickets, but he'll be a lame duck and they'll drop him at season's end without a second thought.

big projection there little man, how could i be mad at him?

i watched the delhomme superbowl because i lived in north carolina and my schoolmates were talking about it, but i was never a football fan. i only started watching in 2015 because my coworkers were talking about their winning streak. i'm a chiefs fan now because it's no fun watching your team lose all the time.

>i'm a chiefs fan now
stop bandwagoning, holy fuck

problem is you're opening up against a bunch of beginning of summer sports shit that isnt football and competing against the beginning of summer itself. i think they made the right decision to run it immediately after the super bowl because there's nothing to compete against than day to day marathon nhl/nba/cbb to make a good first impression

They can easily finish after the NBA/NHL and start before the pre season. They might even be able to have some post NFL draft special where guys that don't get signed may get a chance to play a little more before the NFL regular season. Timing is bad is all I'm saying. There are 4 big american sports and football is evidently the leader. Motorsport is seperate for this and other summer sports are niche. They have die hard fans that will watch their preference first. As for MLB regular season someone is willing to turn off 1 of a 100 games especially if the game feels inconsequential like a lot of them do in this modern era. I just don't think this level of play works following the biggest game of the year. Last year, maybe. The owl was shit but then the AAF went to shit real quick and you couldn't even find some games on tv. Going in 4 weeks from the Super Bowl to a webcam feed only available online with no announcers is a rough sell.

Honestly I knew the AAF was doomed when they introduced special guest announcer Marv Lewis right after he got shit canned.

That’s nice and all but he also got the old browns to contender status right before they became the ravens

Bill's already have a good defense though. They held baltipoor to 24 points and had a chance to win the game if Allen had someone to throw to so he could make up for his own shit accuracy.

>Brown signs with Brady’s new team

Look it would be exciting to see Brady get an elite WR in the twilight of his career but until Brown proves he can remain on a team for an extended period of time without getting in his own way, I won’t believe it.

I keep reading that this class is “loaded” at wideout. Does that mean drafting a wideout in the first round is a dumb idea since there will still be plenty to be had in the second and third rounds? Any collegefags know how much discrepancy there is between Jeudy/Lamb/Ruggs and everyone else?

They have a good secondary and linebackers, their d line isn’t that good outside Ed Oliver for the second half of the season

reading the context around it, this is a pretty good trade. jags get a pick for a guy who would probably have been a cap casualty. broncos get a CB that maybe they feel fits better that chris harris, and might recoup the pick from harris hitting FA.
it's not a huge impact deal, but it might be a win-win for everyone not named Chris Harris Jr.

All this Brady 49ers talk is making me think Bill told the 49ers that Jimmy GQ was only a rental and that's why it was only a 2nd rounder.

never went right.

McDermott/Beane are all about le positional value so I don't see them drafting a WR in the 1st when we have a pretty big hole at DE which is arguably the 2nd most important position in football. McDermott is also a defense first guy. They will probably (hopefully) take a WR in the 2nd though, there should still be a lot of talent left with how deep this class is
