Batters are given a baseball glove if they reach a base safely.
If those players are able to catch a ball hit by their own team, then the hitter gets a walk.

If the catcher drops strike three, the batter and the catcher have a duel. The batter gets his bat, and the catcher gets his armor. Last man standing either gets the out or first base

So is a homerun an automatic 1.5 runs or does it have to happen naturally? I can kinda get behind this

The batter is allowed to try and catch the pitch but he can't set up for the catch and can't leave his natural batting stance. It must be a one handed catch. If he catches it he get to throw it anywhere in the field of play before the pitcher tags him. A dropped catch by the batter is a strike.

Also he is allowed to try and catch a pitch that hits him and also a foul ball but not on a hunt. If he catches the ball off a foul ball the catcher is allowed to tackle him but not before the catch

The two most effective and least game altering things they could've done to increase pace of play are
1. Don't let batters step out of the box. They fucking tested this, it worked fantastically and then they dumped it
2. Only the first pitching change in an inning gets the ~3 minutes of warmup pitches, all the rest just have to go straight in

But alas, commercialbux and so we have completely game altering changes instead like the 3 batter rule and instawalk, which save on average about 4 seconds a game, when the locked in batters box saves 2 minutes off every single Harper and Puig at bat
