Fuck me the Tahs look like a completely different team, this is great to watch
The Tahs were the only team with a new coach and changes at flyhalf so they should be the worst aus team. They're still missing a tighthead prop and outside centre but with the bye they seem to have practiced their combinations. Still don't see them beating anyone actually good with those deficits though.
Evan Jenkins
*the only team with a new coach, the Brumbies also changed flyhalf

Pro14 - Round 13
Friday >Edinburgh vs Cardiff, Murrayfield, 19:35 Both teams come with a few rotations but most of the key decision makers either started or came off the bench last week. Cardiff looked more settled against Treviso while Edinburgh played surprisingly well without their Scotland contingent. Expect Edinburgh's wide game to put huge pressure on Cardiff's middling back 3. Edinburgh by 20. >Leinster vs Glasgow, RDS, 19:35 Leinster set a strong squad as usual. Baird and Fardy in the 2nd row will be disgustingly physical. Glasgow add some of their Scotland contingent but still find a place for Ruaridh Jackson somehow. This game has the whiff of an upset. Leinster looked very vulnerable last week against an admittedly improved Ospreys side while Glasgow need to fight for their quarter final spot. Going purely off of the squads I think Leinster will pip it, with a stronger bench. Leinster by 3.
Saturday >Munster vs Scarlets, Thomond Park, 17:00 Both sides opting for a 6-2 split on the bench, which makes sense given the expected conditions. Game should really be Munster's as they've picked a very physical side and the Scarlet's offloading game is likely to misfire in the pelting rain and stromforce winds. Cloete will get his customary yellow. Munster by 10. >Dragons vs Cheetahs, Rodney Parade, 17:15 Given the sort of bullshit Rugby both sides have been playing this season, this could be immensely entertaining. The weather will suit Dragons over Cheetahs obviously, but the Cheetahs pack will be hard for Dragons to slow down, let alone stop. Any clean break by Smith or Blommetjies is basically guaranteed to end in a try. Cheetahs by 5.
Sunday >Kings vs Connacht, Mandela Bay Stadium, 13:00 Connacht bring a decent squad. The Kings are the Kings. This game will be close up to the 60 minute mark and then Connacht will tear away. Connacht by 20.
Postponed >Zebre vs Ospreys >Treviso vs Ulster Pro14 have confirmed that if these fixtures can't be rescheduled they'll be given as draws. The Italian teams could be effectively out for the rest of the season if things carry on as they are.
Bank bail-ins coming lads, get your money out and buy gold/silver
Dylan Bell
I only watch international rugby but can someone explain to me why Italy are still in the 6 nations? Why do they even bother funding their international rugby team when they are so shit every year?
Kevin Morris
At this point they're just there to give the Scots a way out of picking up the wooden spoon most years. The hope is that now they've actually sorted out their development program they might actually become competitive. But in all likelyhood we'll be saying the same thing next year and the year after.
Thomas Murphy
Going to start wearing my Lions tour Blues jersey to my local New World and completely blank bb each time I see him in there. Absolute plastic of a blues player.

Whats the predictions for the Leinster/Glasgow games lads, Did Joy shave the Vag or what?
Round 13 I think Why? He asked for something and NZR/Blues gave it to him. The people you need to blank are Mark Robinson, and whoever's is the CEO/president of the Blues is

Where the fuck did they even go?? Chilling and playing in the Top League?
This is literally why they're being cut, Japanese players are not allowed to play for them unless they're not good enough for any other team. Will never understand the support they get here, the team is different every week and is just a bunch of super rugby mercenaries.
Asher Cooper
Nah fuck off, they were a great team last year. Great crowds, great coaching, great style, and they had lots of national squad players rotating through, as well as coaching crossover with the brave blossoms. Their mercenaries may have been so but they had team spirit together and real heart and many of them would have made it into better super rugby teams if they played that well generally.
mvovo is dog shit. time to retire this passenger. Good finish to the game though

anybody watching this sevens tournament in LA? I watched it last night, gonna watch again today it was really enjoyable
>The BBC and ITV joined forces to outbid Sky Sports when the rights came up for grabs in 2016 but they were told they were unable to join forces this time around with no joint bids allowed I swear to Christ rugby will die within my lifetime >ringfencing the premiership with no promotion/relegation >premiership with the BT sport deal which nobody can watch >Pro14 with random teams in, killing away attendances as the fans need to take a plane ride for every other game >6 nations behind a paywall >even super league are allowing a French and a Canadian team into their league
must be nice for americans to be able to support their country in an international sport
Wyatt Hernandez
This is cvc pulling all this crap, they did it to f1 which is a dead sport now losing millions in revenue every year and rugby's audience is nowhere near what f1's was, watch as this sport collapses in the next few years and is begging the viewers to watch it

The Firecats XV

Checking in on it occasionally. Reckon it’s better to go to a 7s tournament than watching it on tv
Caleb Hernandez
I just have alerts for the matches on. It is 10am on monday morning here
so that's 50 million pounds each or 60 million euro
viewership doesnt matter if its making more money
Jacob Hughes
Pro 14 went pay tv last season and already the Welsh were having to merge teams due to financial loss's and players and the head coach jumped ship from Glasgow due to the same reasons
The English Premiershit is on pay tv and all the teams bar Exeter are losing money
Christopher Allen
theyre making more because it's on pay tv thats the point of these deals
Liam Thompson
brehs those sevens......unreal will definitely be watching next week
Jaxson Lewis
It's pretty good Union is the same but bigger and more tactical League is the same but bigger slower and simpler
Jonathan Thompson
They're not making anything, its well documented that English clubs are losing money and are going broke, the ones who dont have a billionaire owner to prop them up are anyway
Eir/Premier Sport are refusing to release the viewing figures for the Pro 14 as it has nosedived and will continue to, plus the Welsh and Scottish teams will continue to lose their best players to French teams as the money has started to disappear from dwindling ticket sales and general lack of interest sine the pro 14 sold the fans out
Dominic Hall
What is considered the “top” competition? Like what trophy is most prestigious. Is that league also the best to watch?
Jack Hall
ya and theyd be losing more money without the tv deal
this isnt difficult to understand, thats where the bulk of their money comes from not ticket sales
Michael Baker
>theyre making more because it's on pay tv
They got a one off big cash payment as part of the deal which most of the teams used to pay off their debt they were in but are still losing money due to lack of viewership and support from low fan numbers because pay tv is a sport killer, especially fringe sports like Rugby/F1
Thomas Lopez
>theyd be losing more money without the tv deal
No, they'd have more people watching and the sport would get a bigger audience and more revenue would flow in and their teams would be sustainable, its fairly simple, but they dont do that, they sell out the fans and lose money doing it and their leagues are unsustainable and will eventually crash
Camden Hill
Union > 10s ( only have meme comps every year really) >= 7s >>>> league For 7s your watching it, it's at the Olympics too For union 6 Nations is on atm and is the highest level played in the northern hemisphere (France, England, Ireland, Italy, Scotland, and Wales) , they have several regional club leagues atm too but I dont know quite enough to narrow down which one is the best to watch. Down here atm we have Super Rugby which is the best club league. Watch any game with a kiwi team and it should be entertaining enough. Around August we have The Rugby Championship where NZ, Aussie, SA, and Argie national teams play. World cup was last year and is on a 4 year cycle
NH sides tend to play more boring rugby than SH sides, with NZ playing what tends to be the most entertaining. That doesn't necessarily mean the best, there is a time and place where different styles are superior.
Jason Collins
what the kiwi says the best competition is the new zealand conference in super rugby apart from a couple of sides the aussie and saffer conferences have been shite for a few years but depending on timezones games in any of those conferences might suit you better theres less of a focus on defence in super rugby and there can be a lack of intensity that makes it feel like youre watching a friendly but it tends to have the best players and the most entertaining rugby
the next best league is the top 14 which is french, but id only watch the games between the top sides like your racings, your toulouses, your clermonts. games between those sides have a lot of skill as well as a real brusing intensity to them
all the other leagues are shite except the champions cup which is like the champions league in soccer the quarter finals are on in a month
Dylan Thompson
>publicly educated NH poorfags complaining about a $25/month fee to watch the game they play in heaven >meanwhile SHgods have been successfully filtering plebs from the sport for 25 years
>However, an industry source believes the story was leaked deliberately to try and get TV companies to bid more.
>“This is a scare story, saying Sky are going to come in and bid £300m for the tournament.
>“They are hoping to get BBC, ITV and to a lesser extent, RTÉ and Virgin Media to up their bids.
>“It’s a way of getting more money out of everyone because the fact remains very few sporting programmes are free-to-air anymore. I wouldn’t dismiss the story [which appeared in the Rugby Paper] as a flier, per se, but I would say it is a tactical move.
Lincoln Green
I'm sure it's still better than the shit we have to watch the 6N on
Jaxson Lewis
>Murdoch looking to kill another sport Fuck sake when will that miserable sack of shit die

South Africa's World Cup should be removed. Blatant cheating.

Funny how quick the sights shift to the new target *juices up*
Plus there’s probably enough Irish down in Australia to bandwagon a decent crowd for the games. Wish we were hitting Argentina or South Africa, honestly.

>England prop Mako Vunipola to miss the rest of the Six Nations as he is forced to self-isolate over coronavirus fears
Is that why he is playing for Sarries this weekend?
Camden Long
It's an odd story because both are true. >England's "24/7 camp environment" contributed to Mako Vunipola being stood down as a coronavirus precaution, says assistant coach Steve Borthwick. >Vunipola will not be involved in Saturday's Six Nations game against Wales after travelling through Hong Kong at the weekend. >But he has continued to train with club Saracens as he is symptom free. >"Our medical team looks at our team environment, not other people's," Borthwick told BBC Radio 5 Live. >"And that's the advice we followed. We are a camp-based environment and we stay in together 24 hours a day effectively."
Sort of story where in 5 years' time and he has a book out we find out he was dropped for being a dickhead to the coach or something.
Kayden Morris
>we find out he was dropped for being a dickhead to the coach or something
Thats what im thinking, the other week the story was he was heading over there for Family reasons, makes you wonder why they and the media are jumping on the corona virus scare scam now
