What is the point of this club? >Been in the premier league forever >Hasn't won a trophy for decades despite having premier league money for all that time >Buys players discarded by top teams hoping it will make them a top team >Has a two year manager turn around >Fans hate the team and boo them off virtually every game
Everton were elite in the 80s and won the league a few times, and their only real rivals were Liverpool. Everton never got the chance to compete properly in Europe though because of the Heysel disaster, which effectively stopped Everton ever progressing further than League Champions. As a result they declined in the 90s, then nearly bounced back and became the club we know today.
Literally everything wrong with modern day Everton can be sourced back to the fact Liverpool fans are murderers.
Nathaniel Nguyen
I guess the victim mentality extends beyond Liverpool FC and onto Merseyside as a whole
Juan Mitchell
Everton could realistically win the Champions League in the 80s/90s?
Luke Cook
Literally yes. They won the English League in 85 and 87, and were only stopped from dominating Europe by the ban. A lot of Liverpool fans still gloat about how they stopped Everton from going on to better things.
The main issue with the team right now is management. Silva has no charisma and clearly has no resolve when the team are in threatening positions. There's a reason why Moshiri wanted a big name manager to come in rather than sticking with Silva.
>literally denying your city rivals a chance for Euro glory by murdering Italians, forever sending said rivals to obscurity
Based, redpilled and 4d chess move

I used to laugh at this but man do I miss those days. Prime Jagielka and Baines, Cahill, Arteta, Naismith, Osman, Pienaar. I'd do anything to have those days of being plucky underdogs back. youtube.com/watch?v=v_Z9jSKv3OI
The best bit is that Liverpool basically refuse to acknowledge the Heysel disaster in any form, while demanding everyone pay respects to Hillsborough despite them being responsible for both.

If they would've become elite without the European ban how come they couldn't even win the Screen Sports Supercup?
Because no one remembers that, not even Liverpool fans.
Isaiah Morales
I remember because I was at Goodison for the return leg of the final as we sent them for the echo.
How could they have been elite though when they were not the best team in England the banned years?
Arl Red here. They shit the bed against Oxford the following season handing us the title.
I was also at Heysel AMA

Cameron Rodriguez
Where you murdering the Italians, or looting their corpses?
Charles Rivera
Holy fuck, a literal boomer on Yea Forums
Zachary Parker
I often wonder where Everton would be today if it weren't for the 135 murdered by Liverpool fans, probably a consistant Arsenal-tier.
Jace Sanders
BASED boomer did chelsea fans really do it?
Josiah Nguyen
>he's old enough to have witnessed Liverpool winning the league Greetings ancient one.
Lucas Sanders
Basically, they at least would have more pedigree.

that’s how you do it
Brody Ramirez
this, boomer posters are literally the only ones with a valid excuse for being here
Jacob Fisher
No it was us chasing the Italian after they three stones. If they'd stood their ground they wouldn't have ended up dying. Cowards. Hi. I do remember all of the glory Yup kids have left home. I'm retired and do a bit of gardening Noone looted the Italians as they were under the wall. If they'd stood their ground they would've been fine. Classic fence warriors giving it the bigguns
Daniel Reyes

the problem is that they play too good football for this shit league. if we were in la liga or something then everton would be top 3 easily. but all teams just kick and rush, do 10000 fouls and thats it. you cant play football like that and the fans deserve to see something good.
Joshua Bailey
>becoming a Yea Forums poster when you’re settled and there’s nothing else worth doing with your time We can say the same about you. Why do you post here and wasting your time?
Hudson Wilson
Steven Gerrard. The most complete and talented player I've seen. St John and Kenny a close joint second.
Outside of Liverpool I saw Eusebio play at Goodison park in the 66 world cup. He was head and shoulders above the rest at that time. CK out X and Pol Never. When you find a good woman you stick with her. Women these days appall me.
