He's regarded as pretty solid, understands the way Pep wants to play, and has filled in very well in a bad situation for City. If Mendy stays fit it's unlikely he'll keep playing. I think the best he can hope for long term is to be a player that Pep trusts to fill in across the pitch, but will never be a long-term first choice player.
