>Schalke (so we have someone to laugh at)
it's funny how thin the line between good clubs and historic clubs is nowadays. 10 years ago man city wouldn't even be considered for a second division of a european superleague but inter/milan would almost always be included today even though they're barely in the top 30 clubs in europe in terms of talent
Why would a superleague only have 20 teams? Most of these teams play some 60 games a season. And I assume they wouldn’t play any domestic matches anymore. A Superleague would have at least 30 teams.
Obviously it should be 16 teams per conference then play-offs

Conferences would kill a part of the allure with a Superleague. Supposedly people want to Watch more matches between Man City and Real Madrid. But if you split them into two Conferences you wouldn't see these match ups very often (i'm not very interested any longer though, i mostly watch Allsvenskan these Days, as you get older the idea of a superleague gets less interesting).
>letting teams that have never won a european cup into a super league
The bottom of the list is full of club with literally-who youngsters who get big values just because of their age while never playing for the main team.
i think if a european superleague actually existed, it would organized as such:
30 teams where they all play each other twice home and away
after the end of the regular season the top 16 teams play a knockout tournament alla champions league (round of 16, quartefinals, semifinals, final)
even though it makes no sense for this format to happen in terms of how a league works, the organizers would realize that people would want to watch a grand final between teams, because it's a lot more profitable to have a few extra playoff matches and a final to hype up.
Well that is how the Champions League currently is developing towards. They will basically turn it into a League within a decade with match games in saturdays and sundays. With play offs for the top teams.
I'm sure we will see "Superleague" within our Life time. Only it will be the Champions League, and then you will have the europea League as a second division and EL2 as a third division.
Hopefully Allsvenskan will stay out of this charmless nonsense.

The 20 clubs with the biggest fanbases and best marketing. That way UEFA maximizes their revenue. If you disagree, you're a pleb and have no idea how the real world works.
The Russia and Turkey markets are too big to ignore so they have to bring in something like Galatasaray and cska Moscow or Zenit.

AC Milan
