Yeah, we will. Because he can only do that kind of thing against shit teams which is an indicator that he's not as good as people think.

Embarrassing

This Messi/Ronaldo debate has to stop.

Majority (99%) of people on this board (Portuguese posters included) know that Messi is the better player.

The ones saying otherwise are just baiting, knowing that it will upset ignorant posters.

Enough now - it's getting boring.

Ronaldo is objectively the superior player, that's why most of Yea Forums is tuspilled

Will there ever be another human born with a broken brain that makes him an autistic spaz in everything except football where he's godlike? maybe. probably.

Yes.

Will there ever be another player to choke international trophy after trophy

Messi and Donaldo are like Alex Rodriguez and Derek Jeter, Alex was the better player but Jeter had the better carrer.

Better dribbler than cr7 though, gotta give him that

unironically no, for the next 30 years pacebabies will conquer the sport
after that, we'll see

Spee is a strong mind board mate. Messi is a mindlet.

Let's say Messi doesn't play this season, does Barca finish in the top 3?

i farted

The only place I have ever seen people say Messi is better is online.

Everyone I know irl agrees Ronaldo is better. I have NEVER met someone who says Messi is better.

Ronaldo has mental qualities that make him superior to Messi. Messi is better at the most "beautiful" aspect of the game like dribbling so casuals thinks hes better cause he "looks" better.

It's like people saying Zidane is the GOAT for being "elegant". Get a grip.

I think so, Griezmann is good enough to get them top 4. No chance they win the league though.

Probably yes. They finish 3rd or 2nd cause Real look trash too. Atleti have it this year surely.

sorry but I've never seen a cronaldo banner

We're seeing him right now.

Because the jannies and mods are cucks that are afraid of based Ronaldo's confidence and alpha personality

>everyone I know irl
they are all in your head

They don't want to damage the reputation of 4channel by having a serial rapist in the banner, the sponsors would complain.

Zidane is the goat, he won world cup and euros.

uhhhhh

Why do so many Arab players with an insane amount of talent completely waste their potential?

>Win world cup in your teens
>Knocked out of the CL by Man Utd's reserve team the following year
>Career ending hamstring injury the season after that
Such is life for Ngubu.

>Everyone I know irl agrees Ronaldo is better. I have NEVER met someone who says Messi is better.
honestly almost the exact same for me. the only people i have met that rate messi over ronaldo are all latino/hispanic.

the "debate" is marketing agencies making money off it. There's no real debate.

EU>NA

Cool bait

5 UCL > 3 UCL, 2 national trophies > 0 national trophies.
I've never understood why there was a debate.

I have never met a single person who actually thinks Messi is better. Do messoyfags even exist? Or are they contained only in Barcelona, ESPN FC, and r*ddit?

>I prioritize team accomplishments when evaluating individual skill

Attached: index.png (211x239, 6K)

According to my calculations -- averaging the gap between the birth dates of Di Stefano, Maradona and Messi -- a generation's GOAT is born around every 30 years somewhere in Argentina. Therefore, since Messi was born in 1987, the next GOAT is currently a toddler. So do not despair, Yea Forums. We will inevitably experience another GOAT.

This is a reminder that, when analyzing the most relevant possible data, that is, data directly comparing the performances of Messi and Ronaldo against identical competition over an identical timespan, Messi is objectively shown to be literally twice as good as Ronaldo:
mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/supercomputer-determines-who-better-between-18969139
>b-b-but muh trophies in an 11-per-side team sport
>b-b-but muh much less relevant data

Attached: kumikodeal.jpg (1700x956, 759K)

Certain GOATs are trascendental. And will likely never be truly surpassed, if only rivaled. Examples are Gretzky in hockey, Jordan in basketball and Brady in American football. European football has no such GOAT. As people can't even agree between Pele, Ronaldo, Maradona, and some include Messi in that conversation as well (for some reason?).

>La liga from 2015-2018 is the most relevant data, and not literally anything else like Liga 2009-2015 or any UCL or national team perfomances
Surely you must see how over the debate is when all messoyfags can say is that Messi was better against Leganés from 2015-2018. Now let's compare performances against Bayern, Juventus, Ateltico etc.

Attached: 1554609789444.jpg (235x232, 9K)

>strawman

Because your sports have only 1 league in the whole world, so there are only 30 starting players in each position at the same time

Pele didn't even play in Europe and he's in the GOAT race, Messi never played outside of Spain, Maradona didn't win a Champions or Libertadores

There are lot of ways to rate a player's quality in football, not just rings (and the impact the player had in these wins, let's say finals mvps) like in your sports

>team accomplishment have zero correlation with skill
maybe, just maybe, he is more accomplished because he is better.
have you even read messhit destroyer 9000? Here, educate yourself

Attached: 857b382-1.png (1920x1338, 559K)

Intentionally counting the Nations League and not the Olympics is deceptive as fuck. Poor form.
>and the impact the player had in these wins
You mean like not even playing for the majority of your only major international final?

>muh data that's less relevant than the data in because it's not against identical competition over an identical timespan

Attached: aRareSmugmiko.jpg (394x397, 97K)

Olympics are an under 23 amateur non fifa competition

Who are you talking about? Messi played quite a few of international finals

t. counts the Olympics as World Cups

Horry is better than Lebron James and Michael Jordan.

The only Olympics that count as FIFA international World Championship competitions are 1924 and 1928 since the Olimpic comitee and FIFA joined rules and resources to make them happen.
After those and before those the Olympic football competition was and ia an amateur non FIFA competition.

Jordan and Gretzsky both don't have the most rings. Jordan is the GOAT because of a combination of strongmind, stats, and clutchness in the big games. Gretzsky is the goat because of absolutely absurd individual stats.
Brady is the GOAT because of strongmind, being the GOAT clutch player in all of sports history, absurd stats in the playoffs/superbowl, and to top it all off he is by far the most accomplished player in NFL history.

Football in 1930 was 100% amateur, I guess you don't count that WC, right?

Only the ones organized by FIFA as world championships.
But you know this and are just seething because you are a starlet

Read my whole post, Jordan has 6 finals MVP, that's twice as much as the second player in that list

I didn't say it was just rings (because there are some benchwarmers who were lucky to get lot of rings), but the impact you have in them

t. Seething starlet cebollita
Maybe you should habe beaten >us in 1924 and 1930 and >youd have 2 more stars.

>WHAT DO YOU MEAN HE’S NOT LE GOAT?!?!?!? HAVE YOU NOT SEEN HIS HIGHLIGHTS ON REDDIT OF HIM DRIBBLING BY 8 MAN OSASUNA YOU BIGOT?!?!?!?!!?

Attached: 17A7A879-961A-43F2-A726-0B58F75D452C.png (785x1000, 310K)

75% of your stars are pre 1932 (when football starter to get professionalised). I'm not mad, I'm just laughing at you

What's the argument here? What is wrong with dribbling? He's dribbled on every team major at this point.

He shines most against smaller teams in Liga. He is the definition of stat padding. In the big momments, his performance tends to fall considersbly, while Ronaldo overperforms in those stages, all the while rivaling Messi in Spain. It seriously is not a debate if you look at their statistics and accomplishments.

The point was the Nations League is exactly as relevant as the Olympics, meaning not fucking relevant at all. It's a glorified collection of friendlies.

No one is saying UEFA NL is worth as much as a Euro. But it is senior tournament sponsored by UEFA, where the biggest teams in Europe compete. And if you watched the games, the players were playing their hearts out. Because that's what people do when they play for their country in a competitive senior tournament.
The Olympics is objectively a fucking amateur competition. Barely above Sunday Little League trophies in terms of value at the senior level. No one cares that certain boxers are gold medalists--win a fucking belt at the profesional level before you say shit.

THE GARROTER OF GETAFE

As of last season, these are the teams he's scored the most against in Spain. Not exactly the "smaller teams" in La Liga.

As for "big momments", he scored in every K.O at the CL just last season.

THE EVISCERATOR OF ESPANYOL

Messi played in Liga for 15 years, Ronaldo for 9.

lol

Its a FIFA senior tournament. The olympics are under 23 amateur non FIFA.

When all is said and done Messi will score at a higher clip while not waiting in the box for balls like Ronaldo. Messi attracts more attention and facilitates more than CR7, yet scores at the same rate.

dumb American poster

prime aussie shitposting

That doesn't affect scoring rates against teams mate

Coping French Messoyfag

Yeah he is still playing

>Messi is better at the most "beautiful" aspect of the game like dribbling so casuals thinks hes better cause he "looks" better.
Mate, he's statistically better at through balls, crossing, defense breaching passes, progression into the final third, shot conversion, free kick conversion, key passes.
Ronaldo is better at sprinting and heading.
It's not really close as to who is better.

This

t.Kylian

Mbappe hasn't even surpassed him at stat padding, bruh

Yeah. Umboppu already does it.

Yeah only nerds online think Messi is better..... and most real football players and managers.

For me, it's Veltman

also adel tarrabt

If Cristiano were the best ever he would have been great as a teenager, like all great players are.
He was a late bloomer whom in his physical prime was very inferior to Messi and whose biggest talent has been aging very well.

A friend of mine unironically thinks CR7 is the better footballer LMAO
Really made me think if I should take him serious in his other opinions

Pukki

I don't think Ronaldo is better than Messi, but he deserves praise for turning around his public image post-2014. He was a laughing stock before that.

He's still a laughing stock.

Stop arguing with messoyfags, it is common sense that Ronaldo is better. They're just trolling.

>Americans have no clue and try to use stats instead of actually watching a game that doesn't have ad breaks every 30 seconds
Really gets my noggin joggin

>Muh popularity awards
Wow he beats some autistic kid, well done Cristiano, well done
HOWEVER
Messi is clearly the most talented footballer and has more aspects of the game in his skillset. Therefore Messi gets 5.000.000 points. Messi wins the House Cup!

Lel who cares what some ""English"" ManU fan has to say about the player that made his dick hard until he left for Real Madrid LMAO

people that think messi is better are mentally ill autists, they're not worth debating

It contains data which is much less relevant than the data in which objectively proves that Messi is literally, factually and objectively twice as good as PK7.

Larry bird is the goat newfag

it's hard not to be angry at suarez after watching this

Based

this, Cristiano was a literal who all his life, even rated worse than Quaresma. While everyone from the age of 6 knew Messi was going to become the GOAT, and only needed 20 minutes at Barcelona's youth try-out to be signed on a fucking napkin. Cristiano is only relevant because Ramos and Bale decided to carry finals.

he's relevant because of his superhuman egomania and focus on self-improvement. he absolutely deserves tons of recognition because he's had an incredible career and scored a ridiculous number of goals, but he's absolutely nowhere near the best player ever and shouldn't even be in the conversation

>seriously thinking a choker is the best player ever
okay

Attached: brainletpepe.png (207x243, 6K)

>Mustafi is better than both Ronaldo and Messi because Mustafi has won the world cup
Great argument, retard

he's right you know

People seem to be confused with what GOAT means. A GOAT is not determined on stats alone, but an element of greatness (which is often in the form of performance on the big stage; clutch) is also needed.
In order to be considered a GOAT, you first need the stats and personal acelodes. Ronaldo and Messi both pass this easily, being probably the 2 most decorated players in history. Obviously this is used to show how dominant you were, and how good you were compared to your peers. But this alone will NOT determine a GOAT. Getting past this means you are probably one of the best ever, but greatness is something else.
The next thing to look at is performance on the big stage, and how clutch the player was. Here, Ronaldo clearly wins. UCL is the epitomy of club football, analogous to the Superbowl in NFL, and Ronaldo is clearly far superior as shown byThat's not to say League play was not important--it is. But it doesn't carry the same weight, regardless, their stats in Liga are really close, and much closer than their stats in UCL as shown. byNext is accomplishments, which again, Ronaldo wins. His 5 UCL to Messi's 3, and 2 trophies with Portugal to Messi's 0 with Argentina. Therefore Ronaldo is greater, for he has the stats, performances and accomplishments. Messi has the stats, but is well inferior in performances and accomplishments.

>Ronaldo is a big game player
Something tells me you don't watch a lot of football.

>see flags
>drop phone as it becomes too heavy to hold

>Being useless in over half the international and CL finals he's played in makes Ronaldo a "big game player"
I don't think that word means what you think it means
