How is it not a sport?
Hobby, Join a team
I turned off flags and I still know where is post came from
I run 2.5-4.5KM every other day. Nothing clears your mind better than a jog through a park
Started running back in April after years of being sedentary and already chalking up consistent sub 55 10ks.
It's great bros.
Enjoy your aching knees in 10 years while us cyclebros are still out there killing it
Same situation
Sedentary, stressed with school, overweight, struggling to make friends
Started in february and lost around 10kg. It really helps after a long day
Same, I run a decent route with hills towards the 2.5 km and then continue to finish the 5km. The heat has been great.
I hope you've been running for less than 3 months with this speed
half of cycling is just rolling
Training to run a 1 hour 12 minute half marathon in late September, excited to hit a filthy new pr
Running 50+ miles a week rn, fast intervals, long tempo runs, I just need to make sure I don’t over train
Maybe if you live in a flat country
I've been doing quite a lot of cycling this summer (right on the coast of the English Channel) but I dont know if I will have enough time now
Why not do both? I want to do the Norseman triathlon next summer so I need to be spending more time on my bike, I just do t have any friends that ride so it makes the long miles feel very long and lonely
How the fuck, do I improve my run times? I run all the time and i never get anywhere with it
Yeah, this isn't sports. These types of threads always boil down to e-stats and conversations on how to run faster/longer.
I made a break of 2 months from jogging (july and august) during which I cycled and played basketball almost everyday
Also I have to admit I am not the most athletic guy
Jogging is for women. Lift weights and train a combat sport for cardio you frail little faggots.
>Yeah, this isn't sports. These types of threads always boil down to e-stats and conversations on how to run faster/longer
Enjoy a heart attack a 45 then
Lifting and an actual sport like boxing/muay thai/bjj gets you in better shape and is better for your health than jogging. Jogging is for retarded white women.
>Jogging is for women. Lift weights and train a combat sport for cardio you frail little faggots.
I'm sorry your frail ego can't handle the truth, but /fit/ is a more appropriate place for this thread.
The most important thing you can do is run consistently high mileage
Then on top of that you can work on your speed endurance and your raw speed, do some track sessions of 400/800/1 mile repeats, as well as tempo runs at something like 80% of your max
You may also wanna look at your form, make sure your glutes are engaged, a lot of westerners have deactivated glutes from sitting down all day, if you aren’t engaging them properly you’re going to be putting excess stress on other muscle groups and running inefficiently, I’d recommend buying a resistance band and doing some bridging a few times a week to get them firing
Cope
>jogging are for white women
>some of the fastest runners in the world are from Kenya
Retard
I’m 6 foot 1 85 kg and I box and do bjj I bet I’d kick your ass and flex on you in any race
That's just pure genetics
>the people who taking running seriously are a bunch of frail, malnourished 120lb niggers
Thanks for proving my point, nerd. Jogging is a non-sport for frail geeks. Go try actually getting in shape.
post the address of your shack and I'll be glad to have you swallow your teeth the next time I down there doing charity work
>Also I have to admit I am not the most athletic guy
It's good that you admit it. One thing I see with people running relatively slow is that they never really push themselves, just go out and run slow for a long time. Try to put some intervals in your routine. You don't need to do extremely complicated stuff, but putting 8 series of 400m with slow jogging for 200m in between will do amazing things for you
>not running and lifting
Bristol UK
I’m just out here training at altitude
Did you have to take a break from your fried guinea pig and dirt cookie lunch to type this post?
Thanks bro, I'll be sure to improve.

How much are you running right now? Don’t up your mileage by more than 10/15% each week because it’s really easy to get injured
I’d recommend guys on YouTube like sage Canaday or harry runs for good advice on improving your speed and you’re endurance
Just get out there and have fun, you gotta love the journey man
>tfw like distance running
>tfw tall so I will always be shit at it
It hurts man.
>oh no im tall boohoo
cry me a river fagget
You’ll never run a sub 2 hour marathon but the only thing holding you back from being elite is your mindset, height really doesn’t matter that much, if your tall and light you can fly
Don't get so mad over a harmless sentiment, Nigel.
Manlet detected
then stop taking all the women.
death to all lanklets
fucking manlet rage I love it
fight me at the chippy in ten mins or you're pussy
Imagine living life at 5'10"
I would definitely kill myself
>walking
>not a sport
>he doesn't know about the death march
Who are your favorite runners lads? For me it's Zatopek and Bekele.
It is true suffering, every day I wake up to my own personal hell
>5'10
>in Scandinavia
ouch
>train a combat sport for cardio
retarded
>tftp: the post

Kilian probs 4 me
He’s the GOAT trail runner
Nothing to do with gay jogging, but if I keep running 3km every 4 days in the week, will I be able to lose 10 kilos till the end of the year? I don't do any special diet, but I eat normaly I suppose.
You can’t really outrun a bad diet, 12km a week isn’t that much, but it might be possible
What's a bad diet tho? In my mind only severe fat people need hardcore diet to lose weight.
Although I'm 15 kilos above my weight since ever.
I run around 65 miles a week. Sometimes this goes up, sometimes it goes down. I also ski and ski your frequently. Because I am not obese and don't like Metallica I don't use the gym.
10k best is 29:30. I ran London in 2:55. I've done a few other weird and wonderful events but the hardest, above all, was the Spine Race.
Just cut out any soda, sweets & junk food. Then try to avoid processed foods where you can and avoid excessive carbs.
If you're not already doing this, the weight will fall right off in conjunction with regular cardio.
Diet is probably the easiest thing to fix. It does not require you to do anything special, just cut out what isn't doing you favours. People advocate all sorts of stuff but it's a case of experimentation and good advice to see what's right for you.
Your biggest risk with carrying 15kg of excess weight is injury and form. You are overweight, quite severely so. Exercise must be done cautiously at your weight because you are more injury prone and will take longer to recover.
I'm only going to the gym 3-4 times a week and running for 30 minutes in the treadmil, I don't think I'll hurt myself with this routine.
Thinking about it 15 kilos is alot, but I'm skinnyfat so people hardly ever notice
Stop coming to my universities, fat fuck
I don't eat nothing for breakfest, for lunch I eat rice, bean, chicken/red meat, tomato, salad and sometimes fries, and in the afternoon I might eat a snack like cheesy bread, and for dinner i have something like the lunch but withouth all the green crap.
How bad is it?
>amerifat Yea Forums
>green crap
>I don't eat breakfast
Just give up
29 is seriously quick for 10k but if you’re capable of that your marathon time should be a lot faster, like sub 2.30
Cut out processed junk food, eat mostly whole foods, and desu just have an active lifestyle, buy a bike, get into rock climbing, play soccer, anyone can lose weight but to keep it off you need a lifestyle changes
I’ve been trying to improve my longer distance times for a while now, because anything after a mile and my performance severely dips. I.e. 4:35 1600 but 19 minute 5k
Any suggestions?
Why are you pissed Nigel? I don't want to be a PE teacher or learn this shit, just want to drop 10 kilos.
You health freaks always get mad when someone don't take your life style as a religion.
How many km should I run in one hour?
Any Jokes lad?
See And
Also look into pic related and run hills
>health
>lifestyle
It’s not a lifestyle it’s just basic self-care
>barely ran since I got a job
>had three day weekend and didn't run at all
Not the worst. I personally don't eat breakfast because I work out in the morning and I prefer to do fasted cardio then eat after my workout.
As for the food, try to cut down on snacking especially with food like cheesy bread. I'd also cut out the fries and keep an eye on quantity as far as the rice is concerned.
