What does De Ligt do again?
What does De Ligt do again?
Makes mistakes
>de Slip
he went for the free player behind
*falls in your path*
Low awareness. Kid was sleeping the whole game. You got dude there dashing on-side unmarked towards the goal and he slows down to cover the attacker who isn't the priority
Jesus christ shut the fuck up
Based
Should've been aware of guy coming in id still fuck tho
>When you change the player you control while on defense.
It's the mexiparasites
Their spic scored and they wont shut up
gays
It's just his nerves lads, given 10 years he will be good
Lozano went to Italy to torment De Ligt even more?
Do Juventus always run towards the fans together at the end of the game? That was so fucking embarrassing. You'd think they didn't just get destroyed and get a lucky win from an own goal. What a pathetic team.
Memezano disappeared in the big games against Ajewx
Imagine being a Juventus defender and having to cover for De Shit
Was focused on closing space so that the dude on his left couldn't get into play. I know /spee/ doesn't understand shit but defending isn't actually some simple task, especially when there is a big difference in systems. He's new to the club so it's normal for him to not know the specific movement of his team mates.
Give Juventus a hard time
Galactic brain defending covering the player outside the box instead of the one 8 yards out in the middle of the goal
THANKS FOR THE MONEY BASED ITALIANBROS
HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAAHAHAH
Which he clearly expected to be covered by the dude that did end up closing Lozano down. Which was the point. In a new system, with new players, you have to adjust and learn the specific movement of your individual team mates. Defending is not just run back and break some fag's legs. The most important part is knowing where your fellow defenders are and how they move in whatever situation could possibly arise.
Would it have been better to cover Lozano? Clearly, mistake on his part because he had two options and picked the wrong one after not realizing the dude on the outside wasn't covering anyone. Defending is a team effort.
Based analytic German
Na. When the other CB is behind the striker, it's your job to cover that striker. Leave that other CB to cut across the box and block the guy on the edge of it instead of expecting him to cover 35 yards faster than fucking Lozano can cover 20, as well as get in front of him. That's piss poor defending by De Ligt.
So what you're saying is that de ligt is shit
Let us have one decent player for fuck sakes
I did not say that it was not a mistake, it was. The point was the fact that neither de Ligt nor Sandro(?) were able to communicate, it's 100% obvious that they were both trying to figure out what the other was trying to do. It wasn't poor defending by De Ligt, it was poor defending by both. Should De Ligt cover Lozano instead of the space? Yes. Could Sandro have covered Lozano? Yes.
This is why knowing your team mate is so important, most of the time there is no time to wait and see what the guy left or right of you does. Everyone needs to know their individual roles in various situations and if shit comes raining down, like in this case, communication via simple handsigns can help and it would have done so in this particular situation.
De Ligt has not been playing very well but no Juventus defenders has. He'll only improve as he gets to know the Italian league and most importantly his partners in the defense. Also, it's pretty important to realize that Juventus have been playing a narrow, deep double line for almost a decade. Sarri's way of having his teams play is radically different from anything Juventus have been playing during their Conte-Allegri era. Safe to say that everyone in the defense has to adjust.
It's kind of ironic that your post literally proves the point I was making about Sandro but maybe that was your intention?
You're a fucking idiot and clearly have no idea how to defend. De Ligt is the only one who fucked up in that webm. Stop posting, you fucking spastic.
>swearing = upset
Go back.
He misses based Daley next to him
Nah, you're upset.
>u-umad
I accept your concession.
hans is right, you're clearly buttflustered and know nothing about what's going on in that webm.
Explain it to me so I can laugh at you like I'm laughing at the retarded German who has no idea how to defend either.
>Explain it to me
It was explained, read the post properly.
Yeah, I did, that's why I'm laughing at you for having no idea how defending is supposed to work. Now I want this other spastic to join in so I can laugh at him too.
Okay, so you have no arguments.
>I accept your concession.
The player in front dictates the player behind. It is that simple. De Ligt doesn't need to know what the defender behind him is doing. He makes the move to cover Lozano, the defender sees him do that, and then changes his own plan accordingly. If you can't grasp even that most basic concept of defending, then you're an absolute lost cause.
>resorting to parroting my posts back at me
Yeah, that's a concession alright.
Imagine writing all that up to justify a millionaire being shit at his job
do you have shares in De Ligt?
>The player in front dictates the player behind. It is that simple.
It's not because this assumes a 1v1 situation for every defender.
>De Ligt doesn't need to know what the defender behind him is doing.
>He makes the move to cover Lozano, the defender sees him do that, and then changes his own plan accordingly
He never made a definitive move to cover Lozano, what webm are you watching?
Bonucci, I assume it was him, was attacking the passer. In a very lackluster fashion as well. He's in a 2v1 situation now with the player behind him moving into the space and before Sandro moves it's even a 3v2 situation. De Ligt HAS to consider this, which he did otherwise he would have gone straight for Lozano. The important part of this attack is, and I have already said this, is the lack of communication and playtime he's had with the defenders.
Your issue is that you make football out to be some weird white sheet of paper puzzle. Situations are fluid, that's why knowing how your team mate moves and the ability to communicate is so important. Not a single one of the defenders in this scene looked good. They all could have done better.
>It's not
Stopped reading there
It's a short sentence so I'm sure you can do it.
He expected him to make up 10 yards? kek
Why are you doing mental gymnastics just to defend De Ligt? I like de ligt, but he really did fuck up last game. He's not doomed to suck, he has alot of time to improve but at that salary you can't let a pacey Mexican expose you like that
It was way less than 10 yards when he decided to cover the other player.
Defending? I'm looking at the situation and the thread is literally about De Ligt? Did you expect me to talk about someone else?
Yeah like 5 yards when the ball is about to be played in and de ligt has already been ran past and is in no position to cut out the cross anyway lmao
>when he decided
*was forced to
That's the reason for his sudden acceleration to try to get in close to Lozano. He figures De Ligt is going to cover the pass because that's what any sensible defender would do, when he doesn't, he forces coverage from the other defender. This is why you were told that the player in front dictates the play. If De Ligt covers the pass, then the defender behind him can see that and go and cover the space that De Ligt frees up. You know nothing.
>This is why you were told that the player in front dictates the play.
Which is not a universal rule, you stopped reading right? So obviously you wouldn't know that I already explained the fact that this depends on the situation.
>was forced to
De Ligt was meant, he decided to focus on the other player. Also, Sandro ran for Lozano before De Ligt even made his decision
Once again, nowhere did I say that De Ligt did not make a mistake. Actually, I said he did but you're not actually reading. The point was that this was due to poor communication with Sandro, who was also running for him and had no one to cover. Never claimed he made the right decision and instead made it obvious, in multiple posts, that this had more to do with Juventus' change in defensive structure and the overall lack of De Ligt's experience while playing alongside the Juventus' defenders. That experience, just so you know, is literally one professional game.
De Ligt makes his move 2 seconds into the webm. Which is also the exact moment the other defender starts to accelerate. All you've done is prove that you have no idea what you're talking about. Have you ever even played football outside of a playground?
>instead made it obvious, in multiple posts, that this had more to do with Juventus' change in defensive structure and the overall lack of De Ligt's experience while playing alongside the Juventus' defenders.
This is incorrect. That's what everyone has been telling you. This is an invidual error by De Ligt and has nothing to do with team cohesion or different defensive structure. This is a defending 101 error.
As a defender you are not supposed to have people run in behind your back
you are overcomplicating things
maybe if de ligt covered lozano the other guy would have scored but that is what he was supposed to do
>This is incorrect.
No, it's entirely correct.
>This is an invidual error
The decision to cover the space instead of follow Lozano and cut off the opportunity for the pass is his mistake. I said that, multiple times.
>Should De Ligt cover Lozano instead of the space? Yes.
>Clearly, mistake on his part because he had two options and picked the wrong one
Once again, and for the last time. The point was never that De Ligt did not make a mistake. It was that the mistake was not a product of his inability to defend, anticipate or simply due to his lack of awarness but because of a lack of communication and obvious non-existent playtime alongside the defenders. I said football is a fluid game, what happens on the pitch is not what happens on paper. That's why knowing your mates is so vital. No one in that situation defended well.
>Have you ever even played football outside of a playground?
Yes, for quite some time actually. Until I was forced to stop because of serious back issues. If you did you wouldn't write things like "the player in front dictates the play." since that depends on the situation and as soon as you step on the pitch you'd learn that paper and real life experience against opponents are two entirely different things.
>t was that the mistake was not a product of his inability to defend, anticipate or simply due to his lack of awarness but because of a lack of communication and obvious non-existent playtime alongside the defenders
This is the part where you're wrong. As you've been told a dozen times by a dozen different people at this point. You are fucking clueless.
>As a defender you are not supposed to have people run in behind your back
That works well in theory but then you find yourself on the pitch, in a situation that is not 1v1 and that quickly turns around on you. Actually, any 1v1 in the box is terrible and should be avoided. Superior numbers is one part of football theory that applies to pretty much every situation.
>maybe if de ligt covered lozano the other guy would have scored
Probably not but he could have passed much earlier I feel and Lozano still would have had a good chance. Ther other defender was quite far from him to begin with, especially when you don't have superior numbers in the box to offset the cross or pass. That's why I said no one defended well.
