Manchester United were historically always a mediocre team. It's only in the Fergie era that they became that unstoppable force and a giant of English football. All that we're seeing now is they are reverting to their natural position in the hierarchy. Kids growing up today will see Man United the same as people in the 80s and earlier saw them: A notable team, but a decidedly mediocre one.

Stop paying over the odds for mid table tier players. I know why they do it, customers need to see big money being spent but united can't attract league winning quality players anymore. They need to do a real rebuild, that doesn't mean spend 400m on cast-offs. Spend 200 million on real youth prospects and wait five years (if the customers can wait that long)

However, now that players are incredibly overvalued in utd and that the club is currently 17 usd a share, I think the club is going to need to seriously work on their finances before they can seriously be top 4 contendors again.
