there are many, many more programmes to get women into science then there are to get women into racing if people don't send their daughters karting as much as they do their sons, nothing will change like Bernie once said, perhaps the best F1 driver ever is driving a tractor in Ethiopia right now. The women that do enter racing often aren't really that good. Now this hasn't stopped male shitters from getting to F1, but they typically had tons of sponsorship. If Pedro Diniz, Lance Stroll or Pastor Maldonado had been women, they would have made it to F1 as well.

Women used to pick up herbs for tens of thousand years. They have superior color recognition abilities. Also superior social abilities because while men hunted they stayed with other women in camp and talked and talked.
There are of course anomalies , like everything in natural world. For 1000 guys who would be a good drivers, there may be 20 or 50 women. There's just less women available with skills needed to be a good driver, even less of them is getting into racing.
