La Vuelta ciclista a España 2019 Stage 7 Onda - Mas de la Costa 183.2 km
GC after stage 5: 1 Teuns Dylan Bahrain Merida 2 de la Cruz David Team INEOS +0:38 3 López Miguel Ángel Astana Pro Team +1:00 4 Roglic Primož Team Jumbo-Visma +1:14 5 Quintana Nairo Movistar Team +1:23 6 Gesink Robert Team Jumbo-Visma ST 7 Valverde Alejandro Movistar Team +1:28 8 Chaves Esteban Mitchelton-Scott +2:17 9 Majka Rafal BORA - hansgrohe +2:18 10 Pogacar Tadej UAE-Team Emirates +2:47
Happenings: Hoo boy. This perceived run-of-the-mill breakaway stage resulted in much more drama than anticipated. Not televised bunch crash took out Roche, Uran, Carthy and de la Parte. Uran broke his collarbone for the hundredth time in his career. Also affected in crash - Higuita (EF), Formolo (BOH), Knox (DQS) and like half of Roglic's domestiques: Martin, Bennett, Neilson. Witnesses suggest that it was Martin who went down first. The absolute state of Jumbo-Pissma, I fucking swear. Breakaway this time was pretty strong, with two contenders for intermediate red jersey - Dylan Teuns of Bahrain-Merida and David de la Cruz of Ineos. To add insult to injury, No More Excuses man Van Garderen, who was in the break, crashed on descent and finished last, 25 minutes down. All around horrible day for EF. At first, it looked like Ineos redemption arc, but de la Cruz cracked when Teuns attacked with Herrada (better one) following. It was a situation very similar to La Planche des Belles Filles finish at TdF Stage 6, but this time it was Teuns who rode for the leader jersey. Jesus got his stage win, thus making up for his brother's failure the other day. Teuns in mailot roja, followed by de la Cruz and MAL.
DNF - Carthy Hugh (EF Education First), Roche Nicolas (Team Sunweb), de la Parte Víctor (CCC Team), Urán Rigoberto (EF Education First)
Roglic will abandon eventually. All Quintana has to do is stay upright, do nothing until all his contenders abandon. He will win the Vuelta with ease.
Matthew Rogers
Eurosport announcers saying Movistar hasnt gotten anything out of the vuelta yet, fucking retards Quintana won the second stage you brainlets
Chase Scott
>implying a simple domestique for Valverde will win
Chase Long
>Quintana winning anything that doesnt implicate another ride making an attack on GC and him getting lucky and sandbagging. Literally how he won his 2 GCs
>not a single br*tish flag in this thread uhhh brits??? your boy is going for it
Blake Richardson
>Tao
What a loser lol
Aiden Bailey

Joseph Bennett
>can't even steer clear of peloton

Bravo Teo, good work
Jordan Gomez
Movistar will do the work and Lopez pipes Valverde in the last km
Noah Brooks
First! Cannot understand why there are so few Spaniards in these threads. I hope you guys are enjoying this Vuelta. W-we are very proud of hosting this competition every year.
P.S. Waiting here a Boomverde attack. Hope based virgin Madrazo does his move too.

Owen Perry

Nolan Johnson
really want to see some horrific life ending crashes today
I think that's because cyclism is a pretty boomer sport in Spain. Younger fans are usually around their late 20s-early 30s and are at job time now, so they cannot comment here.
Nolan Ross
their Deportes board is dead as fuck and they don't even have a dedicated Vuelta thread
Nope Quintana never rides in the front, they decided Valverde is the capt last night.
Elijah Bell
Wtf, why is procyclingstage saying its flat, astana confirmed to have to work tomorrow kek
Easton Martin
valverde looks like he could conquer colombia as a conquistador
why is lopez his nickname superman btw, so gay...
Dylan Green
>One little acceleration at the bottom of the climb >They're left with 4 until the finish >Most of the riders behind are domestiques instead of other gc contenders
What a weak field
Aiden Cruz
Roglic got this unless he blows in the last week.
David Anderson
Lopez is nicknamed Superman because he fought off knife armed thugs in Colombia who tried to steal his bike
Also did you know Roglic is a former ski jumper?
William Turner
Shall be rooting for Tadeusz Pogaczar
Cooper Bailey
lmao everybody in columbia has been in a knife fight, does he deserve the nickname though
Evan Cook
He's also a really good TT rider. Our current national champion.
Joseph Diaz
Teuns is dying
Zachary Ross
Teuns sounds like he has room temperature IQ
Hudson Jenkins

Jordan Rodriguez

Sebastian Walker
Checked the stages again, very weird, the last week of Vuelta does not feature any GC climbs.
So, 2nd week should decide the GC winner with stage 16, on 9th September, the day before final rest day.
Mason Hall
fuck that forum, desu full of anglos defending uk postal but in the same sentence accusing belgium of being the most doped up nation because of wva and remco Imagine forgetting britain won all three GT's in 2018 and nobody there even cares about the fucking sport
Hunter Robinson
Especially stage 18 should have finished with a mountain finish....
Toppest of my keks, if he doesn't break down, he might make it, there are no huge climbs way above 2000m. And he is good in TTs as well, thus I do not understand how the UK commentators saying that Movistar should put their money on Quintana, who will lose a bunch of time in the TT.
Adrian Reed
He lost 1:11 to allahphillipe on the tt, will probably lose more to Roglic
Joseph Moore
>spent 30 minutes rewatching today's stage >it's actually yesterday's stage I might be retarded.
