Top clubs gave up on bringing kids though the academy in the last 10 years or so, we produced the most English talent ever during the 90's early 2000s. As with any capitalist ideology, you eventually make so much money you can buy whatever you like.

Leeds won the 1st division the year before the the prem was created, yet the class of 92 was a more significant part of football history then Leeds actually winning in 92. Again, I'm not saying that's a good thing but it's the way it is. The Premier leagues creation is the most iconic and important era in English football history.
