La Vuelta ciclista a España 2019 Stage 6 Mora de Rubielos - Ares del Maestrat 198.9 km
GC after stage 5: 1 López Miguel Ángel Astana Pro Team 2 Roglic Primož Team Jumbo-Visma +0:14 3 Quintana Nairo Movistar Team +0:23 4 Valverde Alejandro Movistar Team +0:28 5 Roche Nicholas Team Sunweb +0:57 6 Urán Rigoberto EF Education First +0:59 7 Chaves Esteban Mitchelton-Scott +1:17 8 Majka Rafal BORA - hansgrohe +1:18 7 Pogacar Tadej UAE-Team Emirates +1:49 10 Kelderman Wilco Team Sunweb +1:50
Happenings: Even though most of the stage was boringfest (with couple of occasional crashes and nearly a car accident), we had some fireworks at the final climb. Based virgin Madrazo died a thousand times and thousand times he rose again, just at the right moment to win the stage in dramatic fashion. After Boomberde killed half of the leading group (including Roche and our guy Quintana), Superman Lopez made perfectly timed attack that only Boomberde and wheelsucking Roglic could somewhat follow. Significant changes in GC, - MAL in red, followed by Roglic and Quintana. On the side note, Ineos got exposed hard again. No wonder they're getting rid of Poels and de la Cruz next season.
For me it's Padun but now I'm scared he peaked at that Ionica race where he cucked Remco. I have hope though, last year he was shit and still came third in that stage where Geniez won and Van Baarle crashed against an official right after the finishline, in typical Vuelta style
Jose Garcia
If they were smart theyd do the race so it didnt collide with the vuelta, like ending the stage in the early evening instead
James Rogers
Valverde is flying though, movistar would be stupid to not have him try and win the stage
Charles Johnson
I don't get it, are you implying Movistar is not stupid?
Xavier Davis
So lets be honest, Crashweak abandoning is probably what will cost Roglic the win, after the tt he'll be in red and his team will become depleted making him isolated in the mountains. Fucking dutch idiot ruining another grand tour for jumbo
Daniel Morales
Feel really stupid for choosing Meintjes and Gilbert so far
Cameron Foster
right now their team is still stronger than Astana but tides can turn with the domestiques who peak in the 2nd/3rd week
Not too good, having to spell the name exactly right was a hassle
Isaiah Allen
is this better than jetpunk ?
Logan Watson
18/73 25% 3 of them are result of typing common spanish surnames tho
Luke Morgan
Don't know jetpunk but I like Sporcle for wasting time sometimes, they have a lot of quizzes
Based Delio and Emilio Rodriguez, free answers for if you try Purito
John Smith
rodriguez and gonzalez yea. too bad i didnt type suarez. quiz also doesnt have froome as a 2011 winner, which would put me at 26%, an above average result.
Matthew Evans
This kind of thing always makes me scratch my head. You've got a cool looking stage with potential GC candidates fighting it out, and you turn it into a "Can Belgians compete for stage win?" with a photo from another race of a guy who isn't even in the breakaway.
Does your country also reduce it's reporting to what some guy with the same nationality might do?
Ian Green
(I may be overthinking this), I just find it strange
we dont even broadcast the race and it's like the best chance ever for ourguy to win a grand tour
John Miller
Poels in the breakaway, lol
Lucas Cox
>Poels alone in the front
Hunter Moore
Time to get those 10 mins back.
Owen Green
Is TEJAY going to do it today?
Adam Cruz
do what? crash?
Zachary Long
Teuns and De la cruz both lost 3 minutes yesterday so i guess they give the break some room like 4-6 minutes
Lincoln Kelly
Bernal is ready for horse category
Mason Myers
I love Belgian chauvinism when it comes to cycling. One of the joys of watching Sporza.
Henry Gonzalez
Cycling is the only place where belgian nationalism makes sense.
Anthony Thompson
no cant stand biased commentators thats why i watch everything on Eurosport and not on the german state broadcasts. watching eurosport uk sucking the dick of ineos or yates is also enraging
Jace Harris
Urán abandons
John Wilson
Carthy too... Breaktrough GT for Higuita and Martinez confirmed, still kind of shit though.
I am so happy people like Tejay exist to make me feel better about my life
Logan Jackson
No more excuses
Aiden Lopez
At least in Finland we use mostly lines painted to the road. Then in places where overtaking is absolutely verboten and it needs to be made clear the sign is used. Partially because all road paintings are covered in snow for almost half a year.
Adrian Brown
That's how it works everywhere I think (except the part with the snow).
I saw Brian Holm in person during the Tour de California this year. He seemed nice.
Sebastian Anderson
Just taking a cheeky nap
Ethan Ortiz
he's the most based commentator, he's even said negro on air before
Dylan Morales
>because all road paintings are covered in snow for almost half a year. Yes, that's why there are so many of those signs. Didn't think of the snow. Snow is the least of our problems in Australia.
Nathan Lopez
How the fuck did he end up like that, lol.
Dylan Jenkins
>tfw was about to bet on Oliveira when he gave 41 times back but didn't
>wins three grand tours in a row >british riders win all three grand tours in a year Oh...... oh no...... no this can't be.............. Oh.... aha...... ahahahaha...... AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
>live close to a big ski training center >few national team coaches live here also >bike paths filled with roller skiers Almost got stabbed by a pole few days ago.
Ryder Rivera
Nice try.
Chase Foster
btw once I was riding my bike near big climb and encountered national ski (or biathlon maybe, couldn't tell) team when they were training in the summer on roller skis and gee, these guys are fast
Wyatt Thompson
>manly tears
Valiant knight
Alexander Ward
I wonder how Shitty Herrada feels now after he screwed up yesterday and immediately get upstaged by his brother again
Andrew Thomas
>Teuns giving all glory to Jesus
based and redpilled
Brayden Ward
based Jesus, singlehandedly saving my roster instead of Geoghegheghegan Hart and Martin
Probably not. I know that there are a couple Finnish national team skiers here but it's kinda hard to tell since they usually just wear whatever kit during summers.
Aaron Baker
bump
Nolan Kelly
I'm so glad Tejay isn't actually dutch so /cyc/ would meme us even more
