Rooney and Beckham weren't overrated. Beckham was rightly understood to be a great footballer, not in GOAT reckoning but a genuine great in his time, his celebrity obscured this reality at times. Rooney was central to a United team that achieved so much during his over a decade there. He had the potential to be one of the best but injuries and then his mentality got in the way of him ever reaching this.

To suggest that they were overrated it just absurd.

I would rank Best, Charlton and Dalglish over Bergkamp. The rest not so much.

I understand your opinion on Bergkamp. He did have a rough time at Inter before joining Arsenal and he didn't achieve as much as most players on these lists. When people talk about Bergkamp they forget his team achievements and focus on how he played. He was so graceful and had so much flair. He was just so naturally talented. He brought class to the game and the people enjoyed watching him play. He made things look effortless and moments like his goal vs Argentina or vs Newcastle belong in every football highlights video.

But yeah you're right he shouldn't be mentioned in the same tier as Maldini/Iniesta/Baresi etc. I think Figo should rank higher than him too. Figo > Bergkamp > Rui Costa
