We won the World Friendly Matches Cup, now it's time to do the double and win the World Cup.

This is the last chance for Djordjevic to make it. Our media are spinning the story that he's succesfull but he's really not. He lost 2 finals against Usa (2014, 2016), some would say yes they were a dream team, but I'd say losses were to heavy & a final loss is never success. He lost 1 european final against Dragic & bunch of farmers, some would say we had a C-team, but I'd say even our C-team should be enough to beat the slovenian sheppards. He also lost that semifinal in 2015 i think against Lithuania, that was the ultimate choke of his, and Bogdanovic too.
When you look in the past, we had so much luck with the draws, we were barely qualifying for the play offs, always 3rd or 4th in the groups. Yes, Djordjevic had some maestral games, like vs Australia on those Olympics, against Brazil etc. But now, when his teams are actual favorites, we'll see if he's the one.
I honestly think he's not when I rationally think, of course I'd support him and his decisions until the championship ends, but if he doesn't win it - good bye old friend.

Also, the table is really unbalanced. Basically it's "divided" into 2 parts and teams from both parts can't play each others before the final, and there's a part that is massively easier than the other, most likely to give China the maximum chances they can to reach the RO8 (which probably won't happen anyway, but I expect some refball for them).

It's hard to predict, but 2 quarters finals will have Russia/Argentina vs Spain/Serbia/Italy (pick your favourites), and the 2 others will probably be USA/Greece/Brazil/Montenegro/Turkey/Czech vs France/Lithuania/Australia/Germany.
As you can see, the 2 parts of the table is unbalanced as fuck.

No, they could have, but they chose to not play. Well, for the NBA it was obvious, in the early 2000's we had a lot of problems with that too when Parker, Diaw, Gelabale, Pietrus, Turiaf, Moiso, Saint-Jean... were playing in NBA and the FIBA was still having European qualifiers. In 2005 a lot of players were extremely angry to have played for the qualifier and done the dirty work, all that to get told to fuck off to let the NBA players play the Euro. A lot of them retired, but it had no consequence as coincidentely the FIBA abandonned the qualifiers after 2005 (for the main teams at least).
So it was obvious they wouldn't play. But in the end, it's really the EL clubs that are a bunch of fucking assholes by forbidding their players to play. And just so you know, FIBA planned and gave the schedule for the qualifiers TWO years before the current EL format was created. It's the EL that scheduled their games while perfectly knowing they would clash with the qualifiers, and did it in purpose precisely to fuck with the FIBA.

As for Croatia, Slovenia or Latvia, I have no compassion for them. Teams like France or Spain had more than 20 players unavaible (almost 2 full teams, basically their team A AND their team B), and yet had zero problem to qualify, barely loosing any matches. Same for Germany, Lithuania or Greece. But all those countries all have something in common: a functionnal and structured local league. Something Croatia or Slovenia don't have, as they let their local league rot and die. Do you know that the only "European" Croatian club, Cedevita Zagreb, started the Eurocup with 8 players who were not eligible for Croatia? They have only themselves to blame for their fuck ups.

Brackets have been obviously done to give China every chances they can possibly have to reach the RO8.

In every tournaments, brackets are made so that 2 teams from a same group could not play each other a 2nd time unless they reach the final (1st team would go to upper bracket, 2nd team to lower bracket, or the opposite, whatever). But that's not the case here: both team would stay in the same bracket and could possible play each others in semi-finals rather than the final.

They started doing this shit in the WC 2014 to make absolutely sure Spain would not face the USA before the final. Well, to bad for them, with fucked with their plan. But as a result, France and Serbia played each other once in group round, and twice in semi-finals.

This time, groups C&D will merge to from "group J", which means we'll probably have a Spain vs Serbia in group J AND in semi-finals if both teams win their RO8.
The result of this stupid format and the "need" to give China all the help they need is that the upper bracket is pretty much Serbia & Spain, while the lower bracket is packed as fuck with USA, Greece, Lithuania, France, Turkey + Brazil, Germany, Montenegro and Czech that are no pushovers either

my point is that the previous system that used to exist where the 1st to 6th of Eurobasket qualified instantly for the World Cup and the 7th to 10th played some qualifiers knockout matches(I think this is how it worked,dont remember the exact terms)

this system was infinitely better and made much more sense

teams with their A lineup in a big tournament get the pass on how well they performed

the B and C teams that played in the qualifiers are not representative and could very well fuck up and undermine the quality of the tournament

And in the end, even if the Greek clubs outside of Pana & Oly often make their players play for a Yea Forums janitor wage, it still produce and field a good number of Greek players, and have a few teams that play in the lower European cups, providing experience for those players. That's something Croatia or Slovenia don't even have.
